Spectacular Mountain Views, Gatlinburg Log Cabin over-looking the National Park

Log Cabin On The Edge Of The Mountain With Fabulous View, 2 Bedrooms + a Loft, 3.5 Baths
BearCub Cabin in Gatlinburg TN, is located in Smoky Mountain Village, over 3000 elevation, and is a gorgeous upscale cabin with a spectacular view of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, OberGatlinburg Ski Resort, Mt LeConte, and the night lights of Gatlinburg. From our deck, you can see the Sky Tram ascend up the mountain as well as the skiers traverse down the mountain in winter.

There are 3 levels in the cabin and you enter the center level. The 2 bedrooms in the lower level are spacious and feature a stone shower, a tv, an overhead fan and an exit door to the outside. One has a king size bed and the other has a queen size bed. The furniture is rustic Appalachian. The washer/dryer and an iron and ironing board are located near the bedrooms. The game room on the top level has a pool table, a tv, a twin bed and a full bath with a jacuzzi tub for all the guests to use.

The center level comes tastefully furnished with a leather sofa and loveseat around a stone fireplace, rustic Appalachian dining furniture, and historic photos of the dedication of GSMN Park at New Found Gap, the builders of the Lodge on Mt LeConte, the Chimney Top Mountain, black bears, and the streets of downtown Gatlinburg in years gone by. The center level has the living area and fireplace, dining area, kitchen and a half bath.

The back deck comes equipped with a gas barbeque grill, a table and 4 chairs , a rocker, and a hot tub. The covered porch on the front of the cabin features a bench swing for you to enjoy out of the elements.

Bear proof garbage cans are located beside the cabin for our guests use and convenience. There are 2 parking spaces assigned for our guests.

The owners of BearCub Cabin are members of the Chalet Village Resort which gives our guests the privilege to use the Club swimming pool and tennis courts during the warm months.

BearCub Cabin has the most spectacular views - however they come with a bit of work. The drive up to the cabin is fairly windy and at an incline. If you are not comfortable driving mountain roads then this cabin may not be the best fit. For those that are ok with a bit of a climb it’s totally worth it!

All of the attractions of the Smokys are within a short drive - Dollywood Theme Park, Dollywood Splash Country, OberGatlinburg Ski Resort, Gatlinburg, and the entrance to GSMNP at Sugarlands Visitors Center are all just minutes away from the cabin.

With its great location, cozy atmosphere, and beautiful views, make this cabin the first step towards a truly memorable Smoky Mountain vacation!

First Mother’s Day

I brought my family for my wife’s first Mother’s Day and our stay was great. Beautiful views with a hot tub overlooking the mountains for a relaxing morning. They even had a pack and play to accommodate little ones.

Very nice

We really enjoyed everything. Rooms were clean, view was great. Would of been nice to have a dishcloth to wipe counters, and hot mitts to remove things from stove/oven. The dish soap and dishwasher soap was a great asset as well as bathroom soaps were nice.

Lovely Spot at the Top of the Mountain

As you can tell from the photos, this cabin is beautifully decorated and lovingly cared for. It was clean and we appreciated that some basic supplies were provided (dish soap/washer detergent/toilet paper) and that no check-out laundry needed to be done. The house worked well for our family of 5. It is a rather steep drive up the mountain and slightly out of town (15 mins), but we appreciated feeling like we were truly staying in the mountains. A mama bear and her three cubs walked right past our window one night, which was a highlight! Also nice to have the back deck with hot tub and stars to come home to. The view was nice, though a bit of construction happening nearby when we visited. Thank you to the hosts for making everything so easy; we had a great trip and would stay here again!

Winding roads, but great views!

The drive to the cabin is very winding, but the view of Ober mountain is great! While driving, we did see a mama bear and 3 cubs walking alongside the road not too far from the cabin. The cabin had plenty of towels for both bathing and using the hot tub, which was much appreciated. The master bathroom shower is very nice, but the area near the vanity is small. Additional towel hooks/bars in every bathroom would be nice. We enjoyed the pool table and hot tub everyday. The loft ceilings are angled and lower, so just watch your head when playing pool. (They do have shorter sticks so you don't hit the walls.) Overall, we were pleased and would stay here again.

Wintertime in Gatlinburg

We had a wonderful stay at Jen's Bear Cub cabin. It was a great place to call our “home” for five days after touring Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The cabin is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We had great views of the Smoky Mountains every day. The ski slope down below us was pretty active but not a distraction to our wintertime stay. The King size bed is super comfortable. Nice having the streaming TVs. All of the light switches were well labeled. The two showers were nice and big. There were plenty of towels in the bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped. The cabin is higher up in the mountains and made for a lot of turns and hills driving up to it as is noted in the writeup. This drive was worth it for the location and the great views. This time of year, was great to visit the National Park, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge because there were not the huge tourist crowds you see in the summer months. It was much more relaxing and easier to get around. We really enjoyed our stay here!
