Wow! What an experience! The staff are so friendly and helpful. It’s all the attention to detail that really makes this hotel so great. The best location in Gent. Easily one of the best and most memorable experiences we’ve ever had. 😁👍 David and Letitia Australia

Amazing stay!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Post! After a long journey from ZeBrugges, it was nice to be welcomed with a very friendly staff. They were so accomodating, even when our room was not ready they kindly gave us recommendations around town and stored our luggage for us! The location is perfect in the middle of everything we wanted to see. The decor and service was amazing. It was such a relaxing place to stay after a long summer day. Would definitely love to stay here again if we ever visit Ghent

Fantastic location, great staff and hotel
Awesome location right in the heart of the city. Quirky room layout with bathroom above (toilet downstairs) but very comfortable. Staff were very attentive. Breakfast was great, as were the cocktails in The Cobbler bar.

What a great stay at The Post- everything at the hotel is so well planned and details were beautiful. Great location too! My only regret is that we were there for only one night ! The bedding and pillows were incredibly comfortable- and the shower was large, great water pressure too!

First Class Post
The Post is an imaginative refurb of an historic building with fun room layouts that are grand and practical. Most rooms are double height with a bathroom on an upper balcony, high windows and period artefacts. The small reception is on the first floor next to a cocktail bar that doubles as breakfast room- though busy in the evening tables are kept for residents. There is no residents lounge but an amazing little room at the top of the stair well with an honesty bar- again with period furniture, coffee table books and artefacts. Other parts of the old building are used for shops and cafes on the ground floor. The hotel staff are friendly and informed. The rooms are clean, cosmetics high quality and towels in abundance. The location cannot be bettered in Ghent but the museums and galleries are at the railway station end of town about 20 mins walk away. Excellent for a treat and worth the expense.

Great location, unique property, friendly staff. Other than a good number of stairs if you're mobility impaired, I would recommend a stay here

Overall good location to historic city center. The hotel is decorated nicely and the service and staff are very attentive. The challenge is the configuration of the rooms. The bathroom is downstairs and the sink and shower are upstairs. It is a winding, narrow staircase and very dark. While the hotel itself is very nice, I would not stay here again. They really need to update their room descriptions to share this important aspect. Elderly people or anyone with poor eyesight should not stay in this hotel.

Lovely hotel
Overall a very pleasant stay. A few minor discrepancies with room service etc but nothing major. Rooms are quite dark, which makes it enchanting and in-keeping with the local architecture, but makes seeing a challenge haha Would recommend staying here

Beautiful location right in the heart of the city. It felt like we were staying in a castle with modern amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful, giving us great suggestions for where to eat and how to get around Ghent. As a bonus, the hotel cocktail bar (The Cobbler) was one of our favorite spots of the trip.

All of the old world charm and exquisite modern amenities rolled into each room. Located in a busy square in the heart of the area and yet our room was quiet. Staff are all superb too. Already looking forward to going back!

We stayed in the carriage room, with private balcony. Positives: Great location for walking around Ghent, very attractive hotel, absolutely wonderful staff, private balcony, delicious breakfast. Negatives: The room is divided into two floors. The toilet is on the first floor. The bed, shower and sink are on the second. There is no sink in the toilet room, so that means going upstairs to wash your hands. There is no door on the shower. For some reason, the lights for most of the room (most importantly, the stairs) are controlled by one light switch on the first floor. I can’t begin to tell you how annoying this is. There are nightlights on the stairs, but who knows how they work? They did not work during most of our stay. The bedside lights do not operate independently (as far as I could tell). The air conditioner controls are super annoying. Personally, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. If you choose to, make sure your partner is comfortable showering with no privacy. I should also mention that when we were there, loud club music kept us awake on two different occasions. It was being played at 3:00 in the morning. That is my most significant complaint.

This Hotel commands the centre of Ghent and make you feel like the lord of the manor as you walk in through the ornate doors and up the gothic spiral staircases until you reach your beautifully appointed room. Spend as much time as you can with the reception team as they will direct you to all the best spots in Ghent including where to find the best hot chocolate. They made my holiday perfect.

The reception staff was exceptional. They couldn’t have been more pleasant, responsive and helpful in reapinnding to our questions and offering suggestions. The only criticism was that the rooms were a bit dark which may be due to the age of the hotel which was otherwise imoeccibly maintained. Overall, however, great stay.
