Turning a villa into a hotel makes every room unique--but our room (Sage, on the ground floor) was appalling. Just in front of the reception, the restaurant and the hotel entrance door, the room's door has no noise insulation, making every conversation between the hotel personnel and guests sound like inside the room. When guests start making breakfast and checking out at 6am in the morning, it's impossible to sleep.
The cherry on the cake? The room's door has a glass that cannot be shaded or covered, making it possible for people on the stairway in from of the room to look directly into the room (over the bed!).
More: lapidated bathroom with a tiny sink and no mirror--the sliding door had no handle on the inside making it impossible to close. Mattress very uncomfortable.
No hotel sign from the road whatsoever, not even on the doorbell, the guard on duty was not present when we come and we had to call the property to be sure to be at the right address.
I truly hope that the other rooms are better (the villa is really nice) but a normal hotel cannot have guests play Russian roulette on room selection!
