The property is old and rather run down, and we had substantial mould in one of the bathrooms. Paint is peeling in many places and left flaking on the carpets in corridors and rooms. It's a great property that needs to be looked after better.

A once grand hotel that has seen better days
Staff were very friendly and efficient. The hotel is quite clean if somewhat shabby. It could use a thorough renovation. We had repeated problems with key cards that didn’t work. Breakfast is very traditional— eggs, bacon, sausage, beans.

Good hotel though could do with some updating, showers not great as there was no water pressure. Some staff were great, mainly serving staff and bar staff, some couldn’t be bothered, they were very helpful with dinner for our group of 9 making sure we got sorted. Had a lovely stay at this hotel again. The hotel is a bit tired looking tho I believe it’s currently being refurbished in some areas and I would not let that put you off staying here. Leisure facilities are excellent. It was very clean tho and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
