Spacious house with an absolutely pristine location on the river
Great house for a larger group, and you can't beat the views from the back deck. The crystal clear river is perfect for wading or boating right off the deck, and there is opportunity for plenty of wildlife sightings across the river too. The living areas are nice and open, and the dining room table is big enough for everyone! The one slight downside that's not apparent in the listing is that the layout of the rooms is a little odd. The bunk room is adjacent to the main living area, and indoor access to one of the bedrooms requires a trip through it or another bedroom (outside access is an option as well). It's not necessarily a deal breaker, but it can make some sleeping situations tricky if everyone expects privacy. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to host a large group or family on a pure Michigan vacation!

All About the River
Loved this house! We're very familiar with Glen Arbor area but staying right on Crystal River was magical for our extended family trip. We used the kayaks and SUPs every day in every direction. Such a blast to stay right on the water, and this house is built to take full advantage of views and access to Crystal River. Our host, Julie, was great and was quick to help with anything we needed.

Great Family Getaway with Scenic Views
We had a lovely stay at this VRBO property. The house is spacious with beautiful views of the river, providing a serene setting for our family and friends. The space, both indoors and outdoors by the river, allowed us to enjoy our time together comfortably, catering to all ages and energy levels. We enjoyed biking from the house to nearby attractions like the Dunes Climb. Nearby trails are picturesque and offer a pleasant way to explore the surroundings. The property's proximity to Glen Arbor, with its good selection of restaurants, was very convenient. Additionally, being within 10 min walking distance to Lake Michigan was a great advantage, making beach visits easy and enjoyable. The owner was friendly and communicative, promptly answering our questions and ensuring we had a smooth stay. A small reminder: bring insect repellent for ticks. We recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway.

Beautiful House on Lazy River
The house fit our family of 10 very well (6 adults and 4 children). The use of canoes and kayaks was definitely a plus. It is located near town, best to drive though especially with young children. Most activities are within 15-30 minutes away. Lots of room in the house and all 10 could have dinner together. The owner was very quick to answer any questions we had. Be sure to check out the houses history on the second floor. We enjoyed our stay at The Weaver House!

Fabulous property
Our family had a wonderful time. We had 3 generations faith a toddler, older children, and adults children in their 20’s. Everyone had a blast. We loved swimming, paddle boarding, and kayaking in the river. The gentle current and shallow water meant that even the toddler Could enjoy the water. Perfect vacation home for a large family gathering.

Beautiful, spacious home in ideal location
This lovely house was a wonderful place for our extended family (four households represented) to stay for a week. With a wide range of ages from grandparents to a 1 year old, there were plenty of activities for everyone including swimming, kayaking, and fishing. The busy road out front and the river out back made us extra cautious about where the little kids were at all hours of the day, but we knew that going into the week and it worked out fine. The house was clean with great amenities. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen with soap, trash bags, and paper towels provided. Checking in and checking out were both a breeze, and the property manager was wonderful in communicating and helping us as needed. The deck is spacious for enjoying the Crystal River with plenty of outdoor seating. We loved having the kayaks at our disposal, and the kids LOVED having the kid sized kayaks. One or two adult kayaks and a few paddles were in need of repair, but we still had plenty to enjoy. One unique characteristic of the house is that you have to walk through either the master bedroom or the downstairs bunk room to access the other side of the house. This didn't create any major issues for us, but it would have been helpful to know for planning, so I'll mention it for anyone else who reads reviews like we do. Thank you for a great stay! We would love to come back if it works out sometime!

Exceptional Crystal River views ...
... from a wall of windows inside the house. Our group of 13 could comfortably separate throughout the house or gather for meals in the roomy kitchen-dining area. The bunk room was perfect for our 6 teen boys, and all had comfortable beds. The home was well equipped with all that we needed. It was a nice location for the outdoor things we wanted to do; i.e., skiing Crystal Mountain, sledding on Sleeping Bear Dunes; even kayaked!

Crystal River access right at your door
Our multigenerational group found plenty of room to spread out at the Weaver House. The dock on the edge of the beautiful Crystal River gave the four kids, ages 3 to 8, a great place to jump into the water, and plenty of space for the parents and grandparents to watch and join in! The River has a gentle current and a sandy bottom, making it perfect for swimming and kayaking on the many kayaks at the house. The house was clean, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed to have family dinners around the large dining table. The house is on M22, this gave us easy access to Sleeping Bear dunes, Glen Lakes, and a 2 minute drive to the shops in Glen Arbor. There is plenty to explore. Traverse City is a 45 minute drive. Communication with the owners was easy and precise. Thanks for the great summer experience!

Very spacious, well appointed home on the Crystal River. Our family (adult siblings/spouses) had a great time in the home---very large with many quiet spaces to enjoy time alone or with the group. The scenic view along the Crystal River was interesting and entertaining as we watched the kayakers, etc. and the wildlife.

Location, location, location!
This house is a great place for family to gather for a relaxing vacation in Northern Michigan. There is plenty of room for 14 people with plenty of sleeping space for singes and couples. 4 bathrooms with showers really helped fill our needs. The kitchen is well-stocked, the dining table is huge, and the yard is spacious. But it is the RIVER IN THE BACKYARD that made this house a special and fun stay. Kayaking and fires and fishing and swimming galore! The hosts are lovely, and everything was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.

wonderful glen arbor getaway
The Weaver house was a fantastic property for a week-long vacation that we took. The location is fantastic, as it is close to the small town of Glen arbor where there are small shops in a small grocery store within walking distance. Additionally, the beautiful back patio and River access is wonderful. All of the amenities including kayaks, fire pit, pool table roll great and in wonderful condition. The house actually is larger than it may appear based on photos. All of the beds and sleeping arrangement was very convenient and spacious. The kitchen and it's amenities were also great. Arndt and the property managers are very communicative and willing to help or give recommendations if needed. Overall, we had a fantastic day but be thrilled to stay at this property again in the future!

Lots of options for a stay during "Covid"
It's an incredible location on a river and with Lake Michigan nearby. It also has lots of options for sitting outdoors including a fire pit. This, and ample space for spreading out while in the sprawling house with windows open, made it a good place to stay during the pandemic but also catch up with friends and family.

Great, versatile house!
Lots of room to spread out and easy access to a lot of activities. Loved kayaking in the very clean river - would go upstream for a while, then turn around for an easy ride home. Easy access to the Heritage Trail. Went both north and south. Easy walk or bike ride to town. Walkable to Lake Michigan. Kids caught lots of fish right out back. Owners incredibly accommodating. House was very clean. Would definitely consider staying again!
