Second stay, different from the first

We stayed at this property 2 years ago when visiting my family in Bayville for Xmas. That stay was really nice. It was a different story this time. We'll find another place next time. In the end, we paid 2000 for a three night stay. Here's a few of the problems we experienced:Coffee maker didn't work (worst time to find out...in the morningwhen looking forward to a cup).Used towels left in the bathroom.Unwashed pans left in the cabinets (oil and food were left in the pan I grabbed).One of the kitchen stools was coming a part so badly that noone cold sit on it without falling off.There is no stopper for the bathtub so we needed to use duct tape in order to give our kids a bath.The walls are pretty thin and we could hear plenty from the family downstairs into the night.Overall, the place is nice, they just didn't take the time to make sure it was thoroughly cleaned and serviced. When I informed the owner of these problems on checkout, I was simply thanked for bringing them to his attention and left feeling like I had overpaid.

Cozy and comfortable

My family of 5 had a wonderful stay! We came to visit our son in college. Mercedes and Roosevelt live on the bottom level are very kind and super flexible with us. They are like having 2 loving grandparents nearby. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed! I was worried my kids were loud never living in a two story before and not realizing people living underneath can hear us. But the sweet couple never complained. They even took a family picture for us one day. They were very flexible when we’re checking out and having to leave our son again. They didn’t rush us out which was so helpful! Great place to stay!

Great Spot in Glen Cove

We had a wonderful experience staying here with our family of 4. The location was ideal for our visit. The home was clean and had everything we could have needed or wanted (hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner, a well stocked kitchen with coffee & coffee filters, seasonings, pots & pans etc). Roosevelt and Mercedes are extremely friendly and welcoming as well as responsive in their communication. I appreciated having them on site and the safety measures they’ve put in place on the property. We would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay!

Great place to stay!

Everything was perfect for our weekend away to attend family events in the area. The house was immaculate, the beds comfortable and the kitchen/dinning room/living room were just the right size for some extra space to relax and unwind in between family gatherings. Great local eateries…Garvies Point Brewery and Brendels Bagels are less than a mile away. Property host, Rupert, was accommodating, responsive and polite. We would definitely rent again over a hotel stay should another family event occur in Long Island.

Great Glen Cove rental

We needed more of a crash pad for some plans we had in the area and this place was perfect. Great location, easy to get to and the rooms and sizes were perfect for us and our kids. The place was really nice. It would be great for a family staying for a bit too. The heat was set pretty high when we arrived but we were able to easily adjust that - so just a heads up to check it when you get there. We will definitely be back if we have plans in the area again. The owners were very understanding and accommodating when our plans originally changed too. We so appreciated their flexibility!

Clean, Spacious Home, Shared Building, Must Clean Up After Yourself

This is a clean and spacious home. Good beds and quality linens. It is one half of a two-family home, so it shares walls and a floor. Expect to hear conversations or TVs from the other half. Also note that you will need to clean up before you leave - strip all the beds and collect all the linens, take out the trash and recycling, and run the dishwasher. Certainly not what you would expect from a hotel quality stay, but if you know what you're getting, it's a nice place.

Beautiful updated home

This home was perfect for us. Just as the pictures show,very spacious, clean . Mercedes called us the day before to be sure we knew how to check in. I asked about the coffee pot, she said “i will have coffee for you, starbucks, dunkin donuts”. Beds were very comfortable, wondeful livingroom area with cozy fireplace. It is on the 2nd floor, and while there is a balcony mentioned,it really isnt usable, but very pretty. If the occasion arises, i would definately stay here again. Location also very close to stores, town. Loved it

NOT pet friendly

The property is very nice, well maintained, located on a cul de sac. The management company, Evolve, was very helpful. The owners didn't let us know until day 2 that the dog bags we used, needed to go into a black garbage bag, the next day was sure the dogs were chewing on their wood (she was chewing on a bone, so I put them away) , the next day they didn't want the dogs to do their business in the front yard! The back/side yards are fenced off. I asked where they suggested they do their business. Never received a response. Also emailed Evolve, who assured us and were very respectful and responsive and we had no other issues. But I wouldn't recommend bringing pets.

Nice house in Long Island

The neighborhood where the house is located is so pretty and full of nature. The interiors are super pretty and it is spacious. I recommend it to the full extent.

Totally recommend

Super clean. Spacious. I was able to cook and serve dinners and breakfasts in the full kitchen. Everything was exactly as the photos. Great proximity to supermarkets and restaurants etc. Will definitely stay again.
