Lovely place
Overall the stay was great. The hot tub is well kept and very clean. The house is adorable and very lovely. Not the best looking neighborhood. More people than I expected, but a pretty quiet neighborhood.

Cozy, relaxing retreat
Great retreat into the woods. Hot tub with umbrella (if you don't want to get sprinkled on), gazebo with fire pit and lights (was a lovely way to be outside at night with the rain). House was fully appointed and easy to find things. Full handbook from the owner complete with hiking recommendations. Great communication before, during, and after with the owner!

As advertised
Wife and sister loved hot tub. Pictures online are exactly what we saw. Quiet neighborhood, slept well as beds were comfortable. First stay of this type for us as we were attending a wedding in the area. As others noted neighbor has messy property but we never saw them or heard them. Most houses are well kept. If I have a reason to go back I would stay again. Owner made sure I knew what I needed and was easy to contact. Overall good first home rental. Everyone seemed pleased with the place.

Secluded relaxing family time
Property is beautiful and well equipped. There are neighbors but the heavily landscaped cul-de-sac location makes it feel secluded and private. Lots of great outdoor activities nearby, and Monroe isn't far of a drive if you're looking for large city attractions.

Lovely cabin in an excellent location
We enjoyed our time at the cabin in Gold Bar. We had access to hiking, rope climbing and beautiful drives with views of the cascade mountains. The Owls Nest has the perfect mountain cabin vibe and is clean, nice, and well-equipped, with everything we needed. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Peaceful and Beautiful!
We totally appreciated our stay at The Owl's Nest in Gold Bar, WA! The location felt secluded, though it was in a cul de sac, the home was truly "homey" and welcoming. An unexpected blessing was the tankless water heater, which allowed both bathroom showers to be used at the same time, thus speeding things up when it was time to end the day. Richard was always on top of communicating with us and making sure our needs were met. We definitely plan to stay there again if all works out the next time we travel to that area! Thank you for sharing your home with us, Richard!

The owl’s nest is perfect for a few days R&R. Cosy, comfortable and quirky in a tranquil setting (despite being able to hear passing traffic from the hot tub). The host was very helpful and keen to ensure that we enjoyed our stay, which we did!

Heaven on earth
The cabin is charming, beautiful and inviting. The decor is a everything you hope for in a serene comfortable family home in the woods. It was very hard to leave. Kitchen was very well equipped to prepare a big Holiday meal, and the hot tub is the best one I have ever tried. Beautiful emerald river and in the neighborhood including a county park half mile away. I will be booking again in the near future. Host was very nice, too.

The Owl's Nest is the place to stay in Gold Bar!
A beautiful cabin with incredible landscaping and awesome amenities! Richard, our host, was most attentive and gracious and was always available to answer questions and give advice and suggestions. We were in town for a special occasion so our dance cards were pretty full but we did avail ourselves of the fire pit during our first evening at the Nest and thoroughly enjoyed the respite. The beds are super cozy and we all slept very well. The kitchen is well appointed with all manner of convenient appliances. And while we didn't have time to partake, there is a lovely hot tub in the scenic backyard. I highly recommend the Nest to anyone looking for a great stay at the gateway to the Cascades or to those who are visiting Snohomish or Everett (usually just a half hour to 45 minute drive away). Bottom line, we will definitely be landing at the Owl's Nest again.

Best Friends Getaway
This was perfect for myself and my best friend, from Oklahoma, to hang out and have quality time. We used the hot tub every day. If you are staying more than three days make sure you get instructions on checking the hot tub and keeping it chlorinated. We loved it. It's a nice walk to the river. The owner added in a delightful firepit and he's putting in an A/C unit as well. We were comfortable the entire time. We had everything we needed and Richard goes out of his way to make sure all needs are met. A very nice man. We felt like friends. This is basically a comfortable cabin like setting in a home. There are neighbors but you still feel like you have plenty of privacy. The porch and patio are nice to spend time on and the view out the upper bedroom window made every morning. I would most certainly stay again!

Amazing get away weekend! We celebrated our mom’s 92th birthday, it was the perfect house for her, easy access, bedroom/bath downstairs, fireplace flickering and all the mountain cabin memorabilia made us feel right at home. We shopped at Pike Street market before heading to the mountains. Richard’s kitchen was a fun place for all of us to create some fabulous meals. The hot tub and back yard made the trip. The bonus was a 10 minute stroll through the fern Forrest down to the river. The trail starts at the end of the driveway! Thanks for making our stay so special!

Great place to hang the interior is filled with unique and well placed accent items and absolutely wonderful pictures in particular the women on a cliff,, the placement of plants and trees provide a wonderful private feel to the covered front porch . It is well kept and very comfortable we will stay again and would recommend it to anyone that wants to get away and go for a hike on any one of the nearby trails and or just chill.

Spring Break Near the Skykomish River
This is a really cozy cabin with a beautiful 2-story fireplace in the center. It was perfect for our family of 4. Our girls stayed upstairs in the bedroom with the 2 queen beds and had their own bathroom and comfy loft as a playroom. We had our own space downstairs. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and the private backyard encircled by a forest. At the end of the driveway there's an entrance to a forested trail that leads to the Skykomish River. It's a very easy 5 minute walk. It was great to have access to the river while being far enough away that we didn't have to worry about our little one when she was playing alone outside. The owner was great at communicating. He started texting as soon as we booked to make sure we would have everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The only problem was that the previous guests broke the massage chair, so we weren't able to enjoy it, but these things happen.

Great place to ness
Stayed at the Owl’s Nest for a few days away. House is very clean and comfortable. The massage chair was very popular. Loft area is perfect for chilling or watching some movies/TV. Full Comcast cable and Roku. WiFi was perfect which was great for remote school and work. Weather was not in our favor to enjoy the hot tub. Did explore some trails along Index. Didn’t know there was a trail near the property to take down to the river until later that day. Would definitely stay again. Richard is a great, friendly host.

We 1000% enjoyed our stay. It was rustic and reminded me of my childhood. It was quiet, it felt warm. we had a good time and was very relaxing. We did not use any electronics because we felt this place is where you go to unplug. it was very comfortable. it was clean and the hot tub was a bonus. So much of a bonus I am having one installed in my home. we will definitively have this place in mind next time we want a quite getaway once this whole Covid thing is done.
