Kicking Horse is Rad
This was an awesome place to stay. The house is great, layout is great, amenities are great.You can tell the owners really love their house. I really enjoyed our stay here. The ski-in/ski-out was extra nice. The kitchen is well appointed which is good since it is a bit of a drive to Golden.

Golden Ultra Trip 2024
My husband and daughter and I stayed here when she participated in the Golden Ultra which had stages both in Golden and at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. It was a very convenient location. The kitchen was well set up for cooking and we enjoyed relaxing in the great room between events. The bathrooms have been recently updated and the finishings make it seem like home. We would definitely come again.

Great Family Getaway
My top 2 favourite things were the hot tub and the beds! I never sleep well away from home and I slept like a rock!!! All of the amenities we needed were there. The hosts were so quick to respond to questions. We would definitely stay there again!!

Perfect place to unwind after exploring
Beautiful area, lots of space inside to unwind, great kitchen. Hot tub was a nice touch. Appreciated all the amenities! Looking forward to visiting in the winter sometime!

Excellent house well supplied. Our group of seven were very comfortable.
Great House. Few minor maintenance issues to be dealt with during our stay, but no biggie. Host Mel was excellent with great communication leading up to and during our stay. Would definitely stay there again and happy to provide high recommendation.

In Heaven!
Our Family was in heaven at Mel's ski in and out property! In march we could ski from the garage down the frozen driveway and over the frozen little street thar is Purcel Woods. From there you crossn1 street (5 meters) and are skiing downhill to the base/gondola. The house was perfect. With a queen bed and three sets ofnl bunkbeds we didnt even need the pull out couch. The hot tub worked great as did everything else. Loved our time and hope to be back soon.

Amazing home short distance from base
We had a great time at Mel's place. Location was great, house was well stocked w games, toiletries and kitchen items (note bath towels are not provided). Great hot tub and layout. Garage is super convenient for storage and changing in and out of ski gear. Would recommend and return.

Great cabin for a group or family, short walk to ski in/out.
Comfy cabin with that real "ski cabin" feel, nicely equipped and decorated. It's a 2 min walk to the ski run and then you can ski to the gondola, ski out right to the house off the run. Has a double garage which is nice as well for parking and storing gear. Hot tub is a nice plus! Would definitely come back in the future. Hosts were great, lots of detailed info on property.

beautiful cabin
we have been going to Kicking Horse for several years but had never stayed at this house before. In the future this will be our first choice. The cabin is very cozy and was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. The beds are very comfortable, the showers have rainwater style heads, the kitchen is open and well stocked with cooking materials. The host was very nice, easy to communicate with, and very accomodating. As long as there is a little bit of snow, this place is a true ski-in ski-out. We can't wait to come back.

Kicking Horse Ski House
Overall, this is a good house and a good setup. We loved the downstairs hangout for the teens with a PS5. This left the main floor for the adults. The only weird thing that would drop my ratings is that we had to bring our own towels - both for the hot tub and the bathrooms. Overall a great rental.

Canadian Rockies Trip - Stay at Golden
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Kicking Horse Retreat Cabin. Mel was a great host...the house was fully equipped with all necessities. We loved the hot tub, the rain shower, and a fully stocked kitchen. The cabin is very nicely decorated which made our experience even better. We would come back here.

What a great house! So comfortable lots of space for our family of four. Wonderful bathrooms and walking distance to the gondola. This house is exactly as advertised and then some. Mel the owner was extremely responsive and wonderful to deal with. If you plan to stay in Golden this house is a great option.

Very nice forest cabin in Golden BC

True ski in and ski out!
This is the second time our family stayed in this beautiful home and it didn’t disappoint. The location is so perfect for getting to the lower gondola in the morning and returning for a lunch and then getting back out to the hill for the afternoon ski. The home is accessible off the Pioneer chair lift and a small trail that basically goes right to the house. The home is super clean and very well looked after. My three son’s totally enjoyed the hot tub after shreading pow all day. Dealing with the owner Mel is a snap and she will respond very quickly. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to stay on the hill to give this home a try. Kevin. W

A beautiful spacious chalet located in a prime spot close to the hill. Well stocked with everything you would need for your trip. It was the little touches that made it special.
