About this property

Beautiful Stone Farmhouse With Heated Pool And Views Across Rolling Countryside

Our house, Barusclet, is a traditional farmhouse, and is extremely spacious. There are 5 bedrooms (a 6th can be made by using the small salon as a bedroom), 4 bathrooms and a cloakroom in the main house. A 6th/7th bedroom, accessed from a separate entrance, with en-suite is available at an extra cost, which means we can accomodate up to 17 people. (the main house cannot accomodate more than 15 people due to fire regulations). The rooms all have great character with lovely exposed beams and stone walls. One shower room is on the ground floor which will help those who would rather not negotiate stairs, or wheelchair users. Please enquire for exact details if this applies to you.
There is a large fenced saline heated pool (12x6m) with a terrace, shaded canopy and plenty of loungers, looking out over the garden, fields and woods. Also a large games room and plenty of outside space to explore; over 40 acres in fact. The locality is rich in history, and there are many pretty medieval villages within easy reach. We also supply bicycles to help you explore! Our farmhouse is situated down a long track off a quiet country road. We are 3km from the village of Gondrin. Here you will find a boulangerie, boucherie, small supermarket, 2 bars, 2 restaurants, pizza takeaway and tourist information. The village also has a huge outdoor pool, with lots of fun for all the family, and a tennis court. The larger towns of Condom and Eauze are 15 mins by car and they offer larger supermarkets and plenty of cafes and restaurants.
Our beautiful swimming pool is heated, and is normally open from April to October. Do check with us if this is important to you as there may be some flexibility on those dates.
The house plans are included near the end of our photos. They are not very clear if you look at them via your mobile, so please either access them via a laptop or ask us to send them to you at full resolution.

French countryside stay
Wonderful stay in beautiful property with extensive grounds. All rooms are authentically decorated and impeccably maintained. The free cycles are a great addition making it easy to explore the local countryside, villages and vineyards (wine tasting). The large games room provided hours of entertainment and the lounge/dining room with log burner, a comfortable retreat for cosy autumn evenings. Gill & Mark are amazing welcoming hosts.

Fabulous brilliantly equipped house
We all absolutely loved our stay at Barrusclet. The house is spacious, very comfortable and brilliantly equipped, in a beautiful setting. The kids (ranging in age from 7-16) all absolutely loved it and made great use of the games room, the perfect pool and all the bikes. We enjoyed lovely bike rides to pretty villages, tennis and some great local markets. We highly recommend and hope to get back some time.

Super spot for a family holiday
We enjoyed a lovely week at this gorgeous farmhouse. The grounds are extensive and facilities are impressive. Our girls enjoyed the pool and the games room and we all enjoyed long leisurely meals around the dining table in the garden. We would not hesitate to recommend.

The greatest pool ever!
Gill and Mark were fabulous hosts. The house swallowed up 14 people spanning 3 generations easily. The facilities were faultless. Having so many bikes- even tag-a-longs and kids seats, was amazing and some lovely, quiet routes. But the pool is were we spent a lot of time. It's huge and warmed to the perfect temperature, we could hardly keep the kids out!

Delightful holiday
Our party of 11 ranged in age from 2yrs to 84 yrs . The accommodation was superb and catered for all age groups . In the mid day sun the children would move from the pool to the house and watch a video or play pool in the brilliant games room. The bedrooms were all spacious and of equal quality . Having 20 plus bikes to choose from enabled many of us to explore the local countryside. We would definitely recommend Barrusclet and hope to return again . Thanks from the Carver family.

A perfect spot for a get together
We stayed here for a week at the end of July and were delighted by a typical French mas, set in the countryside. As a group of 17, from four families, we loved the space and didn’t feel we were on top of one another at all. There are some lovely views and little benches dotted around to enjoy them. Outside the kitchen there are two fabulous outside dining tables, which makes a bbq supper easy, and the kitchen is great. When it was hot we used a table in the shade for the kids. They were thrilled with the games room and the pool is a great size. Everything was clean and the hosts ensured we had everything set up to suit each part of our group, and other assistance on hand to monitor the pool robot cleaner. We went to the local market and really enjoyed the bikes on another venture. It was honestly very surprising that we managed a full group bike ride, borrowing everything available! We had a very relaxing week and loved our stay. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending.

A relaxing stay in beautiful accommodation
We had a great stay. The property is very well equipped and has a beautiful pool and gardens. The owners have thought of everything from board games, games room and a music room to British TV plus a fully equipped kitchen. The property is fairly remote, great for star gazing and sunsets. There isn't a huge amount to do locally, although we visited a water park and rope obstacle course, but if you want a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings, this accommodation is perfect.

Wonderful house in a great location
On the 3rd attempt (due to covid), we finally got to stay at this wonderful property, and we were all so glad that we did. The house contains everything that you may need or want for that perfect away from it all, relaxing holiday in France. The pool is perfect, just at the right temperature with plenty of space to relax around, the grounds in general are lovely to enjoy those wonderful al fresco evenings, or simply to unwind in the hammock or enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Mark & Gill are fabulous hosts, who went above and beyond for our family and for which we are eternally grateful.

Fantastic week in the French countryside
Myself, partner, three children and a number of their friends have just returned from a fantastic week in this lovely villa. Very spacious and well furnished, well-equipped kitchen and beautiful outdoor area could not ask for a better place to spend a week. Mark and Gill are excellent at communicating and quick to answer any questions and sort things out. A lot of bikes in good condition available to use (and a great 20km Car free, tarmac cycle/running/walking path about a mile from the house). Use of a tennis court, lovely villages definitely recommend visiting.

Excellent French farmhouse for a large fmily or group
We spent a most enjoyable week at Barrusclet. This spacious farmhouse easily accommodated our family of 9 adults and 7 children. The large pool with shaded seating was the big draw as was the local waterpark. The large and good quality outdoor dining facilities meant that we ate most of our meals outside using the BBQ and well stocked kitchen. The indoor dining table was also a good size and quality. The children hung out in the games room when not in the pool. The location was quiet and secluded. The house was cleaned well by two delightful Dutch ladies, and the welcome pack was much appreciated."

Wonderful holiday! Lovely property!
Many thanks Gill and Mark for providing such a lovely holiday home. It turned out to be exactly as described and perfect for our family group of three generations. The children loved the pool, the bikes and the tennis court but also the extensive garden and its endless opportunities for play. The middle ones were content as the children were fully occupied and happy. Most mornings a sizeable party of children and others cycled to the village for bread and croissants. The weather was brilliant for our stay so most time was spent outside but the house was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Everything was in good order! As we stayed for two weeks we were able to enjoy some of the surrounding countryside and activities like canoeing and pony riding but Barrusclet was so complete there was little need to venture further. Each of our group had a memorable holiday and can all highly recommend this property.

The perfect place
If you’re looking online, look no further. You simply won’t get better than this gorgeous property. The owners are fantastically helpful and kind, with excellent communication throughout. The property is stunning and very generously kitted out to a very high spec. The pool is simply glorious. Even our three teenagers couldn’t find anything negative to say! 😄 Seriously, this is your place.

WOW!!
We have just got back from the most relaxing week at Barrusclet. The beautiful farmhouse and its grounds were the perfect place to relax and enjoy the French countryside. From relaxing by the pool, to watching the birds of prey circling the neighbouring fields, to enjoying aperitifs at the front of the house sat under the wisteria in the early evening sun... every part of Barrusclet was perfect! The inside of the house is just as beautiful as its extensive grounds, from the old wooden beams to the Range cooker and log burner which provided the perfect space to relax with a book, watch a film, eat around the large wooden table and play board games! Gill and Mark have done a beautiful job keeping the original farmhouse features as well as creating a functional and comfortable space! The local area also provided us with some great trips out. We enjoyed visiting a local market, had a variety of beautiful local hamlets to meander around and we even did a wine tasting at one of the local vineyards. The old air raid siren that goes off at midday everyday, to signify the start of lunch, also provided the perfect opportunity for lunch in the local hamlet of Fources. The ‘plat de jour’ was local and delicious.... 3 courses for only €13! All in all I cannot recommend Barrusclet enough!! I can’t wait to visit again :)

AMAZING!!!!!!!
What an amazing place. The photos on the internet do not do it justice. I was just smiling, smiling, smiling when we arrived. It was far better than the photos. It's HUGE! There were 6 adults, 8 children of ages 3-16. We all loved it. The upstairs sleeping areas are perfect. All the doors to the bedrooms and bathrooms converge to a massive internal square corridor. It's a perfect set up. The rooms are really spacious as well. All the beds/mattresses/sheets/pillows are of really good quality. Really comfortable. Bathrooms of a really high standard. Downstairs a fully stocked kitchen with everything we could need. Incredibly clean. Handy bits left, like spices, oils, tea, coffee, wine, bread, toilet paper. 1 Fridge freezer and 1 fridge. Also laundry room with washing machine, dryer, iron etc etc. There was also a downstairs bedroom and another if you book for 16. The outside is a huge area which we all loved especially the children. They loved the hammock, bikes, swings, tennis rackets and specially the pool. You could really let them just be free and run around, even the younger ones, as the pool has a secure gate. Massive table outdoors, and two barbecues. We spent every night eating outside and dancing away the night, looking at the stars. Bedrooms had double glazed windows, so children could sleep silently whilst parents practiced their amazing dance moves! Two ladies, (Dianne and Anya), who maintain/clean the place, popped over at the beginning to make sure we were okay and settled in and if there were any questions. This was quite handy to know that there was someone we could call, who would pop over quickly in case we needed them. So, perfect holiday. We went away with lots of children and adults, However I can see how this would be perfect for lots of adults too. There is so much room that you can always find a quiet place to sit and read or just look at the vineyards in the distance. Book it and you will see.................

Everything we hoped it would be
We had the pleasure of staying at Barrusclet for almost 6 weeks, from early June-Mid-July 2018. Family and friends stayed with us for varying amounts of time, using Barrusclet as a base for exploring the Pyrenees, the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, and the beautiful area the makes up the Gers region. The house, grounds, and pool are well kept and comfortable. The pool is large and attended to regularly. Anja, who is the local property resource, is attentive, a great source of local information (my husband required an osteopath while we were there), and extremely pleasant. With our extended stay we felt as though Anja was part of our group. This is a house for people who love to be "with nature." The house is surrounded by hayfields and vineyard (actively worked) and there is ready access to excellent biking on side roads and on the walking/bike path. There is plenty of history in the Gers and many small and interesting villages and historic sites to visit. The bakery, butcher, and "8 a huit" (small market) in the village of Gondrin are all excellent. Our large market of choice was LeClerc in Eauze, as was our favorite outdoor market on Thursday mornings. This is a comfortable and well-attended to property in a beautiful rural part of France.

A beautiful house, in a lovely rural setting, which is extremely well equipped
The owners were very helpful and responsive. Their local representative, Anja, was lovely. She made sure the pool was kept in good condition, and was there to help if there were any problems. The heated, salt water pool was a genuine 15 metres, well positioned to be sheltered and catch the sun, if the weather was at all uncertain. I would highly recommend this property.

Barrusclet is an excellent accommodation
The house is charming and well situated in the Gers region. It is well stocked, clean and provides every possible activity needed for any age, for both good and bad weather. Our small grandchildren had a wonderful time in the pool area, games room and garden. Every small detail has been considered by the owners, who are very helpful and approachable, and deal with any small problems immediately. The rooms and furnishings are very good quality, comfortable beds and plenty of clean linen. We couldn't think of any equipment that could be added!! We fully recommend this house and would be delighted to return for a longer stay.
