Overall a nice place going through a renovation which looks promising. Bathroom doors do not have any latch and are glass-covered with a paper film which is see through. I think they might be putting the film on the wrong side of the door as it’s less see through from inside the bathroom. Please don’t leave your bathroom doors in this state. Didn’t enjoy the discomfort of being seen using the toilet at all!! Our toilet was right at the opening of the bathroom. It may be temporary, but hallway windows are open which lead to warm stuffy hallways and possible smoke/weed scents inside the room. The rooms (according to our group of four rooms) never get cool enough. The staff were kind and helpful. Photo attached is an example but doors are that see through!

Excellent location in gothic barrio. Cafe attached brews good fresh roasted coffee on a la marzocco. Modern hotel with elevator, 24 hour front desk. Excellent tapas near. Check out Viana restaurant, amazing - walking distance.

Accommodating staff, property a bit lacking
They seem to be renovating, but the lobby and rooms looked recently updated. Still a bit dilapidated in other common areas (carpets very stained and threadbare) and bathrooms were not well designed. In the rooms, furnishings were decent, but could feel the springs in the mattresses. Shower heads leaky and not functioning well--slope of shower caused water all over the floor which made them extremely slippery. Service was great, very friendly and accommodating.

Location is good. Staff and check in extremely prompt and friendly. If your light sleeper, this place may not be for you. It is loud at night on the rooms facing the street. Shower has some issues. Door was broken and had been for a some time. Rooms need some TLC.

Located right in the gothic district of Barcelona it is convenient to everything you would want to see. You are within walking distance of two different metro lines and multiple bus lines. From your balcony you can sit and sip coffee while watching everyone admire the sights below you and listen to the church bells ring.

Lovely hotel in an excellent part of Barcelona
The Hesperia Barri Gotic Hotel is located in the gothic part of Barcelona. As positioning goes this was amazing. The marina is across the road, the Ramblas at the end of the road and public transport can take you easily around this city. Food shops are everywhere so it is excellent for breakfast, lunch, dinner, tapas, cocktails or anything you can think of. The staff at the hotel were all really friendly and helpful. We booked a small double room by mistake but this was fine for our 3 day stay and had a large shower. Potentially every room has a little balcony ours was at the rear of the building. It can get a little lively, so passers by can be heard late at night but generally it was fairly peaceful. The 5th January three kings parade passed by at the marina and was a great bonus to our trip. Only negative is smoked glass doors to the bathroom, looks posh but not great when you have a poorly stomach and need some privacy. Highly recommend this though and would definitely book again.

A lovely hotel tucked away from the busier streets nearby. Plenty of dining options nearby with multiple transport links within a short walk. The beach also is just a short walk away. The staff were very friendly and the room was perfectly clean with all stated amenities provided eg iron/coffee machine/kettle.
