Le Parc 79 is a collection of farm buildings dating from the 1500s -1800s set in 6 acres of peaceful & private land. We can currently accommodate 15 people across Le Parc (the farmhouse) & Le Pavillon (the gite). We only let them as a unit to ensure our guests get the full and flexible use of the property, exclusively. This works particularly well for multi generational family groups, who often like a feeling of togetherness with a few additional private spaces.
Le Parc sleeps 10 in 4 bedrooms (2 doubles + 2 triples) and has 3 bathrooms. Le Pavillon sleeps 5 in 2 bedrooms (1 double + 1 triple) and has 2 bathrooms. There's a 12m x 5m salt water swimming pool, fitted with a security alarm and a sun deck for loungers. The pool is unheated.
Le Parc has been partially refreshed offering a good standard of accommodation. This is a project of multiple phases to be completed over a number of years (in the off season, of course) but it's exciting to see Le Parc emerge from decades of neglect.
The beds and mattresses are all comfortable. Most of the spaces have been freshly painted, and carefully collected items of furniture have been sourced.
The bathrooms are a bit dated and in need of refurbishment, but they are clean and functional.
The south-facing front of the house is home to a large gravel terrace and a roundabout. There's also a large bbq area for summer lunches or evening meals with seating for everyone.
With views up to the historic church in Gourge, it's a great place to relax and enjoy the sun and the scent of the aromatic planting out front.
Le Pavillon is set over two floors with a double height dining kitchen with sliding doors onto a small terrace with a table for four and views of the big oaks that provide ample natural shade. In addition there's a small snug with a sofa.
The grounds are a mix of mown lawn, gardens and wild areas that allow people and wildlife to happily live together. We have badminton and ping pong, and there's ample space to kick a football or a rugby ball about.
Well behaved dogs are welcome at Le Parc - as dog owners ourelves we love seeing our canine pals freely running about and enjoying the countryside. Le Parc is secure with no known escape points but if your dog is a persistant escapee it will pay to keep an eye out. There are farmers about with fields of sheep and cattle so dogs must stay leashed outside of the property.
