Some 3 night mins available in May and early June. 10% discount for a week during all but 7/18-7/25 and 7/25-8/1. Those last 2 weeks of July are peak summer and rent at the standard summer rate although I have reduced pricing for those weeks as well. Summer rents by the week from Friday to Friday. So put Friday start and end dates in to see availability as listed in the headline as available. Memorial and Labor Day weekends and the first week/weekend of September available at 3 night minimum though again a 7 night stay is 10% off from anytime from 5/19-5/26, and 8/25-9/8. 12/18-1/5 for Christmas and/or New Years at 5 night minimum. But stretch it to 7 nights or more and you get 10% off your stay! Gather your family in the northwoods by the fireplace for an old fashioned northern Christmas or New Years. Firewood provided!

Also note that I have relaxed the cancellation policy for the remainder of bookings in 2025. Effective immediately, 100% refund will be provided for a cancellation 14 days before check-in and a
50% refund will be provided for a cancellation 7-14 days before check-in. Otherwise, no refund.

I also rent a Forester Fisher 18 foot pontoon for the length of your stay only. Prices vary so contact me for details. See pics.

My place is a highly rated Norway pine lodge on a sand beach and crystal clear Little Bass Lake! Great fishing from the docks, diving dock or out on this deep lake (72 feet). Kayaks, canoe, paddleboat and paddleboard provided.

I have a Four season hand-scribed log home on Little Bass lake on a private 5.0 acre lot at end of dead end road. Only 1 distant neighbor. Interior finished with knotty pine ceiling and Australian Cyprus wood floors, and Tamarack paneling. Full kitchen including fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, stove, oven and center island. Watch the stars from the large deck facing the quiet bay at the South end of Little Bass Lake. There is good fishing right from docks. A-Frame vaulted ceilings with master BR and bath in loft. Main floor has 2 large bedrooms, full bathroom, kitchen and great room and has a 4 season porch that is great for family meals any time of year. The walkout basement is unfinished but there are laundry facilities and an elliptical for use by guests.

The campfire pit makes an excellent spot for conversation, singalongs and S'mores. Firewood provided.

A 150-acre 70 foot deep lake, Little Bass has an abundant fishery including northern pike, large mouth bass, good crappie fishing, and even the occasional walleye. You will want to fish for walleye early or late as its such a clear body of water:)

See the beach pics. Sand beach for building sand castles and sand bottom out to 5 feet. There is a diving dock platform to swim or kayak to.

There is also great cross country skiing, downhill skiing/tubing, hiking and bike trail system close by in the Chippewa National Forest. Just google Itasca county trails or Mount Itasca to find them

Broadband wireless internet and basic cable TV included with a smart tv for streaming. A public boat access on lake makes it convenient to launch your boat. Plenty of dock space for your boat on the docks at my property. I do have a pontoon but will only rent to people I have talked to and can be assured know how to operate it. PPS: Sustainable practices: In addition to recycling bins in the basement which are clearly labeled, you are coming to a Forest and I love trees. You will see that I have planted many white and red pines on the property and that I nurture them. And though I try to insure a view of the lake from the lodge, I have worked hard not to cut down any more trees that necessary in the building process. So I think of my lodge as my 'treehouse'. Trees as you know take carbon out of the atmosphere. And of course looking at their beauty in addition to the water and blue skies always makes me feel calm and at ease. There are views of the lake from lodge but it is also very forest like and private at the lodge. A short walk to the beach gives you the full beach and lake experience.

A Magical Retreat
We were completely enchanted by this log cabin oasis. Nestled just a short, 5min scenic walk away from a private lake beachfront, this home was an absolute dream. The trail to the beach is a curvy delight, and the house itself is both grand and cozy. It's a paradise for dogs and water lovers alike— with kayaks aplenty, and even a floating pontoon perfect for sunbathing. The kitchen is equipped for any culinary endeavor, but if you forget anything, fear not; grocery stores and Target/Walmart are conveniently nearby. A pro tip for future guests: bring a rolling cart to easily transport your beach/fishing gear to the sandy haven. Firewood is abundant, and we were even treated to a double rainbow over the house—just adding to the magical ambiance. We rounded out our evenings with family sunset cruises on the pontoon boat. Truly, this is a slice of heaven. Highly recommend for a memorable, enchanted getaway.

Our family had a great time at the Peterson Bay cabin! The property was secluded and tranquil yet close to town for amenities. Very clean! We enjoyed mornings on the spacious outdoor deck and evenings by the lake with beautiful views. Randy was very prompt with booking and providing info; very smooth process! What a beautiful log cabin in the woods to begin with! I also have to admit this was my 1st and guest's experience with Verbo/air- BNB! So wasn't quite sure what to expect nor do I have experience to compair to! The log cabin was stunning and quite modern, which made it an enjoyable experience. I did note each portable air conditioner had black mold in the vents! Not a bother to me but one in our party was/is sensitive so was of notice! I was very comforted knowing the cabin had working air conditioning if desired! The cabin layout, kitchen, multiple beds were steller! Pleanty of cooking space with plenty of kitchen equipment (pots/pans)! So appreciate that!!!! The "welcome letter" of dos and donts was in GREAT DEPTH...multiple pages! Related, I was unable to pull the letter up via email (maybe my error as I am not too tech savy) and should have read re-read in great dept PRIOR to arrival. Again, it was nice to have text/phone access to the owner for questions/clarification. Although, owner appeared to be annoyed by this even though voiced otherwise! (Which was of 3xs). opener/compliment which changed whole experience for all was the fact that the owner stayed on the property during our stay. He wasnt visually in our space but gave sense of HOVERING....noticed multiple camers in the home stated unplugged but didnt help. *lake is not within view of log cabin *1/2 block of rugged walk to lake *no boat access if bringing own boat from cabin & questionable if to this lake

Amazing Family Getaway!
We had a great time at Randy’s beautiful log home. The place was very clean, beds were comfortable. My kids ranging in age from 8 to 18 all had a great time. My daughter filled the house with music playing the piano for us. I enjoyed my coffee on the peaceful deck and we enjoyed lots of family meals in the 3 season porch. Then bonfires in the evening to end the day. All the wood was cut, split and ready for us when we got there. We all really enjoyed the lake and beach. We were able to take the pontoon out fishing and for sunset cruises. We spent a ton of time swimming, jumping off the raft, kayaking, paddle boarding and just sitting on the beach. Randy was very responsive and eager to help with anything that we needed. We can’t wait to go back and make more memories.

Quiet and Relaxing!
We stayed Memorial weekend to kick off our summer and had a great time. We had 4 adults and 4 kids (ages 7-1.5). Randy was so accommodating and had great communication. It was so quiet and peaceful, I feel like we had the loudest kids at the lake. The little beach was great, the kids buried each other in the sand and rinsed off in the lake. We rented the pontoon for fishing and cruising and it was so nice to see the whole lake. The kids caught many fish off the docks and couldn’t have been happier. The house is cozy and we were all comfortable. We would definitely come back in the future.

great getaway for a family of 4!
We had a lovely weekend wrapping up summer with our 3.5 yr old and 10 mo old. The sandy beach was perfect and the lake water seemed really clean (for a lake!) - even with cloudy weather our toddler was more than happy to walk into the water and dig around in the sand. The little 1 min forest walk between the cabin and the lake turned out to be a perfect place for exploring and scavenger hunts. The cabin was great and Randy was incredibly communicative. While there isn't central AC, there were lots of fans and a few strategically placed window units. Might be a bit toastier in the lower two bedrooms for any weather over 80 degrees but we didn't have any problems with the end-of-summer temps we had. Overall a fantastic northern Minnesota getaway!

Tranquil getaway
The property is gorgeous! Our kids loved the sandy beach and the swim area was very clear. The fishing was excellent (we rented the pontoon but a couple people caught fish off the dock too) and the bonfire area was great. The house was awesome with comfortable beds, large bedrooms and great views, plus the deck was huge. We loved the sunroom for games and relaxing. We also really enjoyed being close to town. Randy was very communicative which was wonderful. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Relaxing
This was our first time staying in a log home and it was a wonderful experience. The home is surrounded by trees with peak views of the lake which made it absolutely beautiful and relaxing.! Th deck is nice and big for the family to hang out on and the yard is. Very well kept. The beds were comfy and the home was very clean. The ease of having a rented pontoon, already on site, made fishing more enjoyable for all of us. You might not caught anything really large but you will definitely catch fish!! Added bonuses: The master bedroom shower is AMAZING!!! The cute family of fox living down by the lake was so sweet to see everyday.

From the fire pit to the pontoon boat to the beautiful location, this property was worth every penny!! Gorgeous log cabin with plenty of room! The deck is heavenly! Only complaint would be the mosquitos, but they sell spray for that …lol!!

Had a great time at the lake. Rented the pontoon and went out fishing quite a bit. Never caught walleye, but very large Northerns and one bass. (We threw them all back in for the next person to enjoy catching). House was very comfortable, loved the shower off the master bedroom. There are no extra kitchen cupboards to store any food you bring, so we kept food we didn't refrigerate in large bins in the sunroom right off the dining area, which we also used to keep jigsaw puzzles going the whole time. When Randy says bring bath towels, also bring wash rags and hand towels, none are provided. Randy was extremely easy to work with, everything was set out and ready for us early, and the 2 bottles of wine that were on the counter for us were very appreciated! Would go back any time, was hard to leave when our vacation was over!

We had a great stay in the Northwoods of Minnesota. We fished off the dock and took out the pontoon too. Kids enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboat. At night we all relaxed by the fire. The property was just what we needed and we loved the log home charm.
