This is the third time I have been here and sadly it is not as good now one of the restaurants is only a breakfast room now and the food in the terrace restaurant was poor. Although I opted for a small room it's quite shabby the windows were filthy
The hotel was fine, if a little tired in places, and our room was clean and comfortable, although I could have done with a proper curtain not just a blind so I didn't wake up quite so early with the light (an eyemask doesn't work for me). All the staff we dealt with were friendly and service was OK. The one dinner we had was fine (the menu wasn't too inspiring, but the food was good) and breakfasts were good and generous. Afternoon tea was actually a real highlight - a nice selection and plenty of it! Although the (huge) beach and promenade are very closeby, there's not all that much to do/places to eat round about, so you mostly have to go into Great Yarmouth, which is a bit further than it looks on the map because of crossing the river.
What a lovely few days at the Hotel. Great location and everything you need pretty much within walking distance. Lovely beach for a few days enjoying the sun. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent and Maggie looked after guests so well, a real credit and asset to the Hotel.

Senior Citizen Exierience.
Had a wonderful stay. My only complaint being that the hotel is not exactly senior friendly. Mainly because of the stair access to the rooms. I have a vision impairment plus brittle bone disease which makes the use of stars or even elevators difficult without assistance.
Lovely stay here recently . Will definitely be back

We’ve been visiting the Cliffs for almost 20 years. In the last couple of years things have in our opinion deteriorated. As two older guests we were given a top floor mall and hot room (207) by a rather uninterested receptionist who offered no real welcome to speak of.
The bath plus had what looked like but wasn’t mould on it and the shower didn’t work. The bed was soft like the mattress had seen better days and frankly it wasn’t worth the money.
The shining light was Maggie at breakfast who made our visit. Calm efficient with time for a chat, she really is superb. Car parking is difficult as the venue is so busy. Not sure if we will return for our next trip. Sorry to be critical but we think it’s just got too big too quickly and the basics have slipped as a result.
We were generally happy with our stay. We were disturbed by some staff talking and laughing on the terrace until around 1:30am on the Sunday morning.
We were warned by yourselves, after we had booked (not before) about buildings works being carried out. We saw no sign of this although we noticed that The Pier hotel nearby was clad in scaffolding .
Excellent friendly staff. Excellent food and drink that was fairly priced. Excellent location very close to the beach. Only issue we had was, we booked a sea view room with a balcony and the photo on the hotel website does not reflect the room we were given, which when sat on the balcony, you were looking over a very large, noisy, smelly extractor for the kitchen and above that the top of the large metal structure for the roof terrace. We were offered a different room and a reduction in room rate. The room we were offered was a lovely room with a sea view and was probably the best achievable outcome for us and the manager. We would definitely stay again.
What a lovely stay here at the cliff. Rooms lovely and clean, food was lovely especially the roast and the staff was amazing especially Ashley, Leah, Rik and Dio who made our stay a memorable one. We will definitely be back. Thanks again guys love Suzie and Jamie x
It was a really friendly hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Weather was on our side it was lovely and sunny few days. The room was clean but could done with the paint work being done and the chair in the room is on wheels and must be in all rooms as i could hear someone rolling around on it in the room appove which was annoying especially in the night. The terrace was lovely but the glass needs a good clean. Overall the stay was lovely and we would definitely go back.
