Cute Cottage in Beautiful Forest | Artistic Style & Charm | A Ligonier Original

Beechwood Cottage was once an artist's home and studio...and it is an eclectic, artistic, inviting and relaxing retreat awaiting your arrival. Your visit to Beechwood Cottage will awaken your creative spirit and recharge your soul with art and nature's wonder.

This house is a true Ligonier original and reflects our 24 years being part of this special community. We've been providing short term rentals for nearly 10 years and we love sharing our cottage, and this community, with visitors from around the world who are looking for a change from the ordinary that's elegant, unexpected, welcoming and inviting. It's a little bit of art, a whole lot of love and one of a kind around every corner.

Your inspiration will begin when you enter and enjoy the hand-painted details of the large enclosed front porch. As you step through the sliding interior door, you'll be delighted by unexpected and expansive, beamed ceilings in the great room. In fall and winter, cozy up to one of the home's two working fireplaces - the first a massive, floor to ceiling wood burning beauty (we'll start you off with a box of seasoned firewood) made of hand cut sandstone and a second in the cozy den and featuring the instant, easy charm of gas firelogs.

As you explore the house, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen, private spaces for quiet reading or contemplation, a rustic farm table ready to host your new family memories, a great outdoor space, private, fenced yard and a fun and delighting mix of cottage antiques, original art and one of a kind style.

Beechwood Cottage's three bedrooms feature views of nature's beauty from every vantage point, in every season. Be sure to check out the intricate hand paintings on walls and floors and faux-paint finish of the master bathroom vanity - magically transformed from plain wood to curly, burled maple.

We enjoy traveling around the world. From the Mexican kitchen tiles (carried back from Tijuana), to the intricate and intriguing decoupage window cornices, or a framework of seashells gathered from beaches around the world - and much more - the delightful details around every corner our cottage will excite, engage and inspire the creative you.

The interior of Beechwood Cottage was not bought in a big box store. It continues to evolve and has been created and curated to reflect us, our love of craftsmanship, original art and our journeys and inspirations from our own travels to many corners of the globe. Travel that has grown our world, opened our eyes yet always led us home to this beautiful spot in the historic Ligonier valley.

Family Reunion
The cottage was very nice and clean. Only complaint is there is really no shower in the master bath only a tub with a hand held shower head but no shower curtain. Everyone had to use the one shower in the main bath. We made it work because the location was close to other family members staying in Ligionier.

Highland Games and Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival
We had a wonderful time. The cottage was spacious and comfortable. ( Three bedrooms and two baths. ) The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. The property was only a few miles from Idewild Park where the Highland Games were held. The property owners reached out to see how we were doing and if we had any questions. The property instructions were clear and simple. I would stay there again!

Wonderful stay! My family really enjoyed our stay at the Cottage. The cottage was spacious and immaculately clean!! We enjoyed cooking out and relaxing on the beautiful deck. The cottage is well-maintained and it is apparent that the owners take pride in the condition of the cottage and want guests to enjoy their stay. Tom answered emails immediately and was extremely pleasant. We hope to stay again soon!

1 daughter, 2 small sons, and 2 grandmothers from Ohio enjoyed a lovely 3 days at the cottage. Days were spent at nearby Idlewild park and soak zone and it was wonderful to come “home” and unwind afterward. The cottage has all the amenities we needed and more. We were lucky enough to meet Tom, the owner, and he gave us a brief history of the house!! Ver cozy and just as described. We loved it!

Great, cozy cabin.
Everything great. A bit mildewy smelling but weather's been hot and humid. Probably would help to keep the AC at a lower temp.

Cottage
We rented this adorable little cottage to bring our grandchildren to Idlewild and Soad Zone for a few days. We ended up calling it the Storybook Forest cottage for all the charm it held. It was very clean and met all of our needs. The only downside was we had to check out a day early as the parks all closed due to some minor rain, what a disappointment that was. The best part of the cottage for us was sitting outside and listening to all the birds and watching all the little squirrels. The owners were very easy to communicate with.

Hand Crafted comfort
The house was completely cozy and clever: wooden beams on the ceiling, hand painted floors, antiques, quilts, and decoupaged doors- it was an inspiration! The beds were remarkably comfortable. The kitchen had any supplies you would need. Everything was clean. The flower garden was visible from inside and was full of hummingbirds and bees. It was close to all the action in Ligonier. We had a very pleasant stay.

Excellent location and very comfortable
The small house was very comfortable, with everything you would need for a few days stay. We were in the area to visit relatives, but we took a little time to shop in Ligonier, only 3 miles away and eat at several good restaurants. It was relaxing and quiet. The Pie Shop. only a mile away, was closed for a remodel, but it was great years ago, and I imagine it still it. The owners were only an email away and responded to questions very fast. I highly recommend this stay.
