I usually stay in downtown Greenville, but there were no vacancies due to SEC basketball. I rented two rooms here for the weekend with family (including and infant). The rates were very low for the area. I assumed the worst, but it was somewhat tolerable. If you are a budget traveler you could probably get a decent room. One of the rooms that I booked was o.k., the other was fading fast.
This is a dated property. Yes, it has been somewhat renovated, but not well. Room had a significant unidentifiable smell. We had to buy some Febreze and Clorox Wipes. Hot water in shower was variable. Closet door had a punch hole in it. Refrigerator door was disgusting. Beds and linens were surprisingly clean and comfortable (we did remove comforters). Hotel is in a good location and was quiet at night. Staff was very nice. This would be a great place with a complete update by competent and qualified staff. Furniture is old, carpets are in bad shape and the previous renovation looks like it was performed by teenagers (caulking around tub was ridiculous, new tub coating was peeling off, etc.).
