Great little camp!
We loved the location! Close to town, right on the lake! & big yard for the dogs! The deck was a bit sketchy we brought our boat. The camp was very rustic, close to ourdoorsy living as you can get! Comfy bedstamenities!

Musty not Rusty
I am not opposed to the "Rustic" but not a lingering musty odor. The rug in the living room space needs to be removed. A blanket on storage box really smelled of dog. The wood stove to heat the place was full of ash, so in order to start a fire the fire box would have had to be swept of ash before a fire could be started. The cabin did not have a functioning outdoor light at entrance. Limbs hanging down in front of entrance is dangerous, especially in the evening. The space heaters two, one we used and the other since the only plug in available was by extension cords and didn't dare to plug one in with other items on same extension. Used the one and it really didn't do much to warm the cabin. It was 53 degrees that night, so pretty cold inside. We only stayed one of the two nights that we paid.

Not what was advertised
Dock was on shore. Garbage on property. Weeds growing up through the picnic table which was unusable. No fire pit. Trash in bed. Fire alarm going off all night. Child fell down stairs from porch due to no rails. Hardly able to open or close door to the porch. Kitchen and one bedroom smelled of dog urine. Had rented for 3 days left in less than 14 hours. Very unhappy.

DO NOT STAY HERE
The cabin is badly infested with bugs, that were crawling on my toothbrush! Screened in porches have major tears in the screening, allowing bugs to enter. There is nothing in the living room that is comfortable to sit in. There are two broken down day beds and ONE ancient plastic covered rocker. The electrical service in the cabin does not even meet a bare minimum safety code. Exposed wiring all over the place; far too few receptacles to meet code, extension cords everywhere. The cabin is incredibly dark. No table or floor lamp in the entire cabin. The water system in the cabin draws raw water from the lake. If you drink it, you get “the runs.” The cabin stinks of musty damp conditions. The roof leaks- buckets needed for drips. Yard is overgrown in tall weeds. You will be very disappointed in this cabin.

Not a great experience
We've stayed in moosehead for 7+ years and usually always try a new place. We know what rustic is we've stayed in places with no electric and outhouses however this was not anything like the picture's. We arrived and noticed the screened in porch that had a door leading directly into the cabin had major rips (now thats not a problem alone...) the problem is the door from the screaned in porch to the cabin had a huge gap allowing all the mosquitoes into the cabin where i had my 4 month old. The problems dont stop there, the grass was shin high, the roof leaked significantly onto the electrical cords that were exposed and because of the water getting in the cabin was moldy. Extremely disappointed and we lost 3 days of our vacation being relocated.

False advertising
The pictures of this cabin are not accurate. The lighting is extremely poor, and even with a sunny day, the cabin remained dark and depressing. The beds were so uncomfortable that we could not sleep there for a third night and left a day early. The drainage in the shower as well as the kitchen sink was slow and caused accumulating dirty water. There were cobwebs and I even found a tiny spider crawling across my pillow. The bedding was clean, and I feel the cleaners did a fine job with what they had to work with. However, I would not recommend nor stay here again.

Rustic and peaceful with some downsides
The good: The camp was rustic and peaceful. The wood stove was nice during a rainy day. We rented kayaks and had them delivered and picked up directly from the camp- easy and fun. We were provided fresh drinking water. We were able to bring our dog. The location on the lake was great! The not-so good: The electrical system used extension cords and connections buzzed like they could arc- out and surged under load. The wood stove was supported with stacked 2x4s. There were mice inside. All water for washing (dishes and showers) were unfiltered from the lake meaning not clear and a little smelly. The furniture (picnic table inside and plush couch) was not rustic nor fresh.

Great cabin. Rustic as described but had what we needed. Decent shore for kids to enter water. Loved sitting by the lake at night with fire pit watching stars. Bring some chairs to sit by the water none provided. The cove is great very few boats so the water is calm and safe for kids. Property management was great. Only issue we had was running out of gas for the grill. Management resolved that right away.

Rustic cabin with beautiful location
This was the first time I rented a property managed by Vacasa. Their customer service is really terrible for any questions you may have in advance of your stay (eg. the water is not potable, do they supply a water cooler or do we have to supply our own) but once I was checked in the local team was fairly prompt. The internet did not work initially, but they sent someone to fix it the following morning. There is a train that passes once or twice a day and when it does, it is loud! Luckily it is infrequent. That's the worst of it. The cabin is otherwise as advertised, very rustic but well appointed. I did find the beds to be way too soft for my taste, but I didn't have any back issues. The location is really beautiful, the lake is fantastic, and there are walking trails very close by (which few people seem to use). I had a great time and would consider renting again.
