The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The location is excellent for public transportation, right across from the train station, but you have to walk about 10 min to get to the city center. The dining/bar area was very nice and cozy and the bartender was amazing, super friendly and enthusiastic! We didn't try the food as we opted for dining out. The A/C didn't cool enough and there is no shower door/curtain so it was a challenge not to get all the bath floor wet when showering. Overall a very good experience.

The location is good, right on the quiet and picturesque side of the train station plaza. It’s surprisingly quiet and relaxed there while just steps from all the busses and trains. You’re also around the corner from two parks and a short walk to central Haarlem. There are cafes and restaurants all along the 10 minute stroll. The front desk was accommodating and the breakfast is nice enough. My only complaint is that whether we had the window open or the A/C on lowest setting, the room was always hot and stuffy at night. The room was also tight, as most are in Europe.

This is a great wee hotel right next to the train station . The room was super and very clean . Staff very friendly and breakfast was super . Would recommend it if you are visiting Harlem or Amsterdam

Neat, comfortable hotel, convenient location, relaxing cafe/ bar/lounge area, friendly staff, good rooms and comfortable beds. A good buffet breakfast was available. Location - very close to train /bus station and only a short walk to quirky old museum and imposing cathedral in old Haarlem

Everything at Lion D'Or was great. Staff were professional, friendly and welcoming. Room was a good size, we were in the roof and loved the character of the sloping ceilings. We faced the back, wasnt noisy. Would recommend and would stay again.

We were very pleased with this hotel! Convenient to the train station and walkable into the main town with loads of shopping and dining. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was spacious with everything we needed. The bed, linens and towels were very nice, however only one pillow per guest. We would have liked additional pillows. All in all, it was a good choice for one night.

Fabulous Hotel
An amazing hotel. We had a family room and had plenty of room. And air conditioning!!! The staff were friendly and accommodating. The location across from the train station is incredibly convenient and yet still quiet. I can't recommend it enough.

Right across from the train station. This old building was well maintained and inside is safe and sound with nice character. The only draw back is the cleaning lady was knocking on my door at 9am while I was trying to sleep in. They should have checked with the front desk and not bother the guest.

(-) The public plaza - across from the hotel - after midnight was noisy with party people. ( ) The location was very convenient to the train station and Schiphol bus (#300). The staff were very professional and helpful (especially the night clerk who helped for all my requests.)

Really friendly staff and the hotel was comfortable, clean and quiet - it has a lovely atmosphere. So convenient for transportation (trains and buses) and easy to walk everywhere in Haarlem from the hotel. Really enjoyed our stay and loved Haarlem. Much better value than hotels in centre of Amsterdam.
