Staff were courteous and friendly. Building works were in progress. Stair railing was wobbly. Last step of decending stairway was uneven causing misstep. Curtain on the window did not blockout the light. Window couldn't be opened as street noise was clearly heard.

Great stay
We had an upstairs room and did request a room upgrade if available which we did not get. Would have been a good time for them to have done it as they were doing huge renovations in their poker room which affected their entry and reception area. It will be wonderful in a few weeks or months I guess. We had a beef schnitzel with Dianne gravy and a small side salad and chips for tea which was probably a little bit overpriced but very nice. The girl that greeted us at the hotel was very friendly and welcoming. The young lad when we had our tea was okay and the chef was very friendly and the girl that was helping the young lad was also keeping busy and doing a good job. Our room was the cheapest but was clean and tidy and had everything we needed in it . Probably would look at getting this room again next time but would have appreciated the upgrade especially when they were doing the renovations downstairs. The old meal is a fabulous place to stay as it is very central to everything and walking distance To everywhere on the main street

Rats in the ceiling! My husband, two daughters and I traveled 12 hours by car to Hahndorf to celebrate my 50th Birthday the start of November 2024 and stayed at the Old Mill Hotel. We quickly discovered that the place was far from what was advertised, with Rats running and scratching all night in the ceiling we hardly got any sleep. In the morning we discovered a hole in the plaster and Urin stains as well. After complaining to the staff they send someone to fix the hole, at least the rats couldn’t fall onto us in the middle of the night! According to the staff they were fully booked out, so we stayed 3 of the 4 nights in the ‘Rat’ room. I also should mention the mould in the shower, the corroded dripping tap in the bathroom, the dead bugs on the window seal, the dirty stained blankets in the cupboard and the antenna half hanging of the roof with only 2 TV channels. After calling 10 days in a row and sending emails, I have not been contacted by the owner or staff about my complaint. Spending over $1000 for 4 nights I must say it was the worst place I ever stayed with the worst customer service EVER.

The cabins are tired and need an upgrade. The surroundings do not create a good image-leaves everywhere, weeds in the gutters, dusty etc. the rooms are very basic and tired. The mezzanine gets very hot and the main bed mattress needs replacing.

Facade looks amazing but interior rooms need some attention. Stair railing is unsafe bolts are out and landing feels like you are about to go through the floor. The bed was awful and pillows paper thin. Get what you pay for I guess.

Hi it was a lovely stay just on weekends be aware of some noise from weekend parties. Unfortunately we hurt a weekend of yahoos. Staff were lovely and rooms were impeccably clean and well set up.
