We loved the Haiku Hale! The home is cozy, clean, and the breezes through the window are magical. The back porch and backyard are also lovely—large with an abundance of trees and cute chickens.
HOWEVER: (1) the spot is not as quiet as described as it is seemingly surrounded by BARKING DOGS! We were awakened 3x in the night (on different nights) by the sound of several dogs howling and fighting (!!!) on a nearby property and also were awakened by howling twice in the morning. I mentioned this to the host, and her response was just that sound travels across the pasture. Fair enough…and also still an issue not mentioned in the listing which boasts of ultimate quiet, etc. This may not be a problem for most people, but this is something just to note if you’re noise sensitive like me—some folks may not care.
Also, (2) the biggest burner on the stove is broken and the bed pillows are lumpy and uncomfortable.
The bottom line though is that if you do decide to stay though you won’t be disappointed. The hale is private and generally tranquil, and is wonderfully located as a jumping off point for all sorts of outdoor activities. The house is well kept, and Chrissy has it nicely stocked as well.
