The hotel is a bit older but still well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. What is definitely worth going there is the all-you-can-eat-dinner!! The quality of seafood to eat is just very hard to beat. All the sushi 🍣, sashimi 🍱 and other options available are just mouthwatering and of superb quality! The onsen bath (hot spring) is nicely equipped and spacious.
Beautiful traditional onsen property. Tatami rooms and clean, quiet and comfortable. Bathrooms are modern traditional, deep soaking tubs; toilet separate room.
Easy to walk to shops, resturaunts, bus stops.
Is was a really outstanding Hot Springs hotel experience, with great Japanese style rooms that will appeal to foreigners, and a very new construction. The baths were especially good, there were several main large baths, including a cold bath which is very important after you get overly hot inside a hot bath, then in the next room over there were another half dozen different theme baths to experiment with. Highly recommended hotel!
The hotel had a very uniquely Japanese feel while providing modern amenities, such as lots of USB ports for charging phones etc. Rooms could have used more storage space. Breakfast and dinner buffets were plentiful in variety and amounts. Perfect place for our family reunion. Onsen baths were amazing.
Hotel Banso really impressed us. The design was very modern for an onsen hotel. The rooms was spacious with a nice western styled bed. Typically the toilets in onsen hotels are rather small, however this was a decent sized one with a modern look.
The onsen was also great, there were around 5 pools, each with their own unique feature. The buffet was absolutely amazing! The staff was extremely friendly as well and the food was delicious. We had sashimi rice for breakfast and had a lot of crab for dinner.
Close to tram station. Far from hakodate JR station and hakodate hill. The food for breakfast and dinner was excellent with a wide variety of choices. The onsen facilities are perfect with resting room where you can relax after onsen with complimentary drinks and ice stick.
Very nice buffet B'fast and dinner, the extra dishes every night was so suprising.

Non flexible check in policy
non English speaking staff, inflexible chk in policy, will not chk in even arrived one hr early, new annex room has new paint smell that's uncomfortable to breathing, onsen is small, water is either too hot or too cold, location is next to a big apt. complex in city center, best dinner and breakfast buffet during my 10 days trip in Hokkaiddo.
