Had a very relaxing and memorable stay here for two nights. Was greeted immediately upon arrival and the staff were very professional and courteous. Their breakfast buffet was one of the best I've ever had. The room was clean and spacious, with a private onsen facing the calming view of nature and trees. Highly recommended and would definitely return again.

Communication with hotel was difficult . They answer very late or not at all. If u hv children, dinner arrangement is very difficult . Even tho it’s a family hotel, meals ate not offered to children unless ur an infant. Hotel is beautiful but private onsen seems outdated n dirty. They do not provide transportation to n from hotel. U hv to book a taxi days ahead , if not ur not able to get to there train station unless u catch the local bus. The water park is dirty n not well maintained. Very dangerous with mats that r broken or torn . Easy to trip with a wet floor .

Very luxurious spa hotel. The room had a terrace with a bath and there was plenty of space. The dinner and breakfast were exquisite. The dinner was as 5 course dinner with sea food and a buffet of desserts. The breakfast included a wide variety of options from a buffet (the french toast is a must) The onsen in separated for women and men, it is very beautiful and the water was clean and warm. Overall amazing experience, can’t wait to be back!

I was so amazed at this hotel!! This hotel property is in an amazing location with breathtaking views. Such a peaceful and relaxing setting. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. We also booked our reservation with the teppanyaki dinner and breakfast included which turned out to be delicious!! I would highly recommend this hotel I promise you won’t regret it. The property was lovely, with stunning rooms. However, transportation to and from the property proved challenging. We were unable to find a taxi on our check-out day, and the recommended bus was both late and unfamiliar with our destination, causing significant stress. Given the property's remote location, the hotel should have provided more convenient transportation options, such as a shuttle service or clear advance notice about the need for pre-booked taxis. Despite emailing months in advance, we received no such information. The transportation difficulties overshadowed our stay and prevented us from fully enjoying the amenities.

Relaxing Stay
A wonderful stay away from the big city! We stayed for one night, but wish we stayed at least two nights. The rooms were large and included outfits to wear within the hotel community. We also enjoyed our private onsen on our balcony both in the evening and morning. This was the perfect way to end our Japan trip!

This hotel, the onsens, the food, the unlimited ice cream were all amazing. The beds were comfortable and we loved having the balcony tubs and yakatas to walk around in. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after busy Tokyo.

Hakone Kowakien TEN-YU was beautiful and the onsen was lovely. Breakfast was excellent but dinner options were scarce. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon to find that there were no reservations available at the hotel for dinner. The staff informed us of some restaurants in the town, but when we walked down at 5:00pm we found that they were all closed. We ended up eating from the Family Mart for dinner. The staff should inform guests of the dinner situation upon booking their reservation so they can be prepared.
