We stayed here for a 3-Night getaway for New Year's Eve and Hamburg sightseeing. The hotel is convenient to a bus stop with good connections to S-Bahn into Hamburg, and is very quiet and small. We would call it a good, no-frills hotel with some character. The room, though small, was impeccably clean. The staff, though their German and English skills were weak, were very friendly and helpful. In terms of value for money we'd give it a 3. The restaurant has an interesting menu with Mediterranean entrees as well as German fare. Couldn't argue with the portions or the taste. Breakfast, though well-priced, was a bit mediocre with limited choice -- and the morning of New Year's Eve there was none available. (We were informed we "should have" told them the night before we would want breakfast.) We will say the staff did a bang-up job with the New Year's party, smiling, helpful, and contributing to a good atmosphere and celebration. Food and beverage were plentiful and good.
