I stayed there for three nights. The hotel is at a great location close to tons of restaurants and malls. I stayed on the 17th floor and it was very quiet. The bathroom is large with a shower and a tub, but the design and the furnitures are quiet old but clean. Room service was well done.
The whole front of the hotel is totally removed from it with construction going on.
Hotel has dirty unpaved entrance, (my bag got filthy just rolling up to the entrance. There is no lobby or lobby chairs, (you must go to the 25th floor to check in or do business.
This hotel should have advised guests of the current construction and certainly made better preparation for guests to have a place to sit and use their facilities.
I had to wait standing up for business associates and had no place to speak with them when they arrived. No lobby bar, concierge or anything. Just a corridor to an elevator and no chairs.
Inconvenient hours for the business center and fitness center.
The only restaurant was on the 26th floor requiring multiple elevators to reach and had a limited menu. (Very awkward to get to.)
Not a particularly nice are of Hanzhou with dirt roads and potholes all around the neighborhood.
Buffet on the same 26th floor was reasonable but difficult to get coffee.
A manager apologized for all the inconvenience so they must realize how difficult this is for guests.
Even if construction was completed at this hotel, I would not recommend it due to the poor area, poor parking and road conditions surrounding it and restricted hours for their business center and facilities.
Hotel under construction. Noise after hours due to drilling or banging. Had to change room. I would wait until remodel and construction is finished before I choose to stay there again
Very noisy. It is not very comfortable to have front desk (check in) at 25th floor.
The first floor lobby is very small. A non-hotel person (seems a taxi driver) was frequently at the first floor lobby desk reading news paper or smoking.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
There was on going construction and it was very noisy.
A taxi driver was frequently smoking in the first floor lobby. He was not polite to us. Sometimes he was reading news paper in the lobby. Once he was in the taxi resting and he refuse to drive.
The room I was in was very very spacious and big. It had a lounge and even an en-suite make-up room. However the decor and interior was dated and in need of improvement/refurbishment. There was construction going on right next to the hotel, I think they're in the midst of an upgrade or constructing a new wing altogether. The staff in the hotel were not really friendly, they just did their jobs with not so much as a smile. I would rather try other hotels the next time I am in Hangzhou.
I wasn't sure about this Hotel but was pleasantly surprised by how clean and beautiful the Hotel was.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Not bad. Avg!
This review is only based on a short stay and mainly on the room and lobby. The place is not so Chinese as I was scared of (foreigners you know what I mean!). Room is comfortable, good bath amenities, not bad location and good price. If you want to be in The sightseeing pint maybe you should considers another place next to the lake, but the prices are higher.
The hotel is nice and have few good restaurants. Perfect for business stay.Unfortunatly there are a lot of noice because of building in the area. But nice and I will book again.
Very hard to park the car. We tried to ask hotel to book taxi, but it was very disappointed. The management was not very sufficient. e.g. they could arrange booking taxi service, arrange cleaning windows in the very early morning to avoid dirty water dropping in the front door.
Staff is professional and helpful and many speak English well. The problem was the air conditioning, which wasn't turned on yet for the season. It was quite warm outside, therefore it was extremely warm in the room. They did bring me a fan which helped. Also they are in construction of a new tower so rooms on one side of the hotel are very noisy all day/night!
We were very happy with the hotel. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Service was excellent. I used the gym daily and it was reasonably well-equipped. The hotel is centrally located, but a bit of a walk from the Westlake. Will definitely stay there again!
Spacious room, nice decor, comfortable bed
quick response to fix the water drainage problem
20-minutes walking distance from the West Lake and is acceptable to me
The breakfast is mediocre as most hotels in China
Stayed here 10 years ago when it was the raddison. Rooms are a little dated, but still good. Western Food/Breakfast is as good as it gets in a hotel at China.
the main attraction of Hangzhou is the West lake. The hotel is 30 minutes walk away and even thou it is a walk on one of the main streets it is not near. The roads around the hotel are extremely congested (one of the main roads by the hotel is closed) so taking a taxi is not much of an advantage.
Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. The room was well appointed, well maintained, and very comfortable. The service was outstanding. Would highly recommend this hotel. We will stay there on future visits.
The hotel is in downtown Hangzhou and next to the famous Wulin Square. Great if you like shopping or are doing business in Hangzhou. However, this isn't the hotel you want to be if you are a tourist hoping to see the West Lake. Bus stops are only a couple of minutes away but the bus ride to the nearest point of the West Lake takes 20-30 min, depending on traffic and up to 50 min if you are going to the south and west of the Lake. The staff were extremely friendly and could speak excellent English. The rooms are bit old but the entire hotel is under renovation at this moment (July 2011).
