On the plus side, Diane was willing to fix any problems as soon as asked. The room was quiet, and the original parts of the building were interesting and attractive.
On the minus side, we got charged a lot more than expected because of various upcharges, such as a surcharge for the second person. We had to pay a cleaning fee over and above the room fee. Since there were somebody else's hair on the shower drain, no waste basket, and only one towel for two of us, we weren't sure the owner was getting our money's worth out of the cleaners. Also, the modern renovations didn't entirely work. The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor and was hard to turn on. Wifi worked one evening and then not the next morning, but as an example of her helpfulness, when asked, the owner provided a network access device.
The complimentary breakfast at Cafe Latte was excellent, and any time we ran into the owner, she was pleasant and helpful.
The building is not marked with any kind of sign identifying it as Northern Lights Mansion. so be sure to remember the street number.
