Terrible experience, safety and service at Tru Hotel. My child was hurt in his room.
We booked a 2 night stay at this hotel in preparation for our family vacation at Hershey Park.
Check in was fine but first thing I noticed when I walked into the room was how high the beds were off the floor. I have a 5 & 7 year old, so my wife and I slept in different beds with our kids and propped up the sides with as many pillows as we could so they don’t fall off.
Unfortunately, my 7 year old rolled off the bed at night and landed on his left shoulder. Immediately we noticed how deformed his shoulder look and he was crying of pain. We called 911 right away and told the front desk. As the ambulance was taking us down, the front desk was just looking at us, not offering any assistance or asking us if we needed help or even what happened, just staring.
Long story short, at Penn State hospital, he ended up with a broken collar bone (clavicle), and our family vacation was ruined. I don’t know why the beds are so exceptionally high off the ground, even the shape of the bed frame seemed odd. To me, seems like a safety issue and less child friendly. And to boot, the toilet wasn’t even working properly, off and on. Terrible experience and service.
