Enjoy the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life! Imagine waking up to the sounds of the loons on the lake, grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting on the porch taking in the beautiful views of the lake and woods. Our 3- bedroom, 2-bath cottage sleeps 7 comfortably (2 queen, 1full, 1 single bed). The Cottage is one level with 7 steps up to the deck to access the front door. The house is located on Beaver Lake with direct access to the public boat launch, beach, picnic area, and children’s playground just a few hundred feet away. You really get the best of both worlds here as the house is next to the lake but is also a 7-mile drive to downtown Hayward and all the other attractions, festivals, etc!!
The space
This is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and the ensuite bathroom has a shower and garden tub. The second bedroom also has a queen bed. The third bedroom has a full and twin bed. They share the main bathroom which has a full-size shower and bench.
Guest access
You will access the cottage with an electronic keypad on the front door off the deck- code and more detailed instructions will be given to you prior to your stay. There is a driveway and a parking area along the side of the house for easier unloading. The driveway is big enough to park 2 vehicles and trailers. You can also park on Spruce Lane which is the road that the side parking is on. It is a quiet road.
Other things to note
The indoor fireplace is not currently usable. We totally understand that some guests may want to use it. Unfortunately, it poses too many risks and potential issues for regular use. There is a large firepit outside that you are welcome to use! Thanks for understanding!
FAQS:
Q: Can we check-in early or check-out late?
A: It depends. Check in is at 3pm. We really would love for it to be earlier and can occasionally accommodate that but not often (our cleaner is busy!). Ask me and we will do our best to let you know as soon as your cabin is available. We and our cleaning staff have strict protocols to follow and can't always have the cabin ready earlier than 3PM. Feel free to spend time at the beach beforehand but please allow our cleaning crew the space they need to get things ready for your stay. Check out is at 11AM! This is as late as we can go - our cleaners need to get in there to make things perfect for our next guests!
Q: Is there WiFi?
A: Yes, we have Centurylink and will provide the login information with the on-site house manual.
Q: Do we have cable TV?
A: Yes, we have Directv.
Q: Do we provide firewood for campfires?
A: No, however you can purchase firewood at several local convenience stores and grocery stores for $5-6 per bundle or find roadside vendors for a little bit cheaper. Sometimes previous guests will leave unused firewood behind so you might just get lucky and not need to purchase any at all. We do have a couple of lighters for your use.
Q: Is the water safe to drink?
A: Yes! This is well water that is tested every year. There is a water softener in use as well.
Q: Do I have to clean up before I check-out?
A: You certainly don't have to do anything at all if you don't want to. It would be appreciated if you would wash up your dirty dishes and leave them to dry in the strainer, strip the beds that you used so our cleaner knows what to wash and leave your dirty towels on the floor in the bathrooms so our cleaner knows what needs to be washed.
Q: Is it a contactless check-in?
A: Yes, it is self check-in and check-out. You will receive a code to the electronic keypad a couple days before your stay.
Q: Can I swim in the lake? Is there a beach?
A: Yes, the beach is right there. It’s a great place for the kids to swim. The public dock is right there as well. The lake is about 16 feet at its deepest point.
Q: Is there enough room to park a boat/trailer?
A: Yes! The driveway is large enough for several vehicles and trailers. There is also room on Spruce Lane.
Q: Do we have a boat landing?
A: This is a public boat launch and dock. You can launch your boat there.
Q: What kind of fish are in Beaver Lake?
A: Bass, Northern Pike, and Panfish.
Q: Do we have boat or canoe/kayak rentals?
A: No we don't however Hayward Outfitters/Hayward Water Sports does and they are located in town just off Highway 27 by the Big Fish Museum.
Q: Are there hiking trails nearby?
A: There is a road that goes around the lake. Otherwise check out the Hayward Chamber of Commerce site for hiking and other outdoor activities.
Q: Are there ATV/Snowmobile trails close by?
A: Yes. Snowmobile trail access is from the house. ATV’s may be ridden on the roads around the area but are not allowed on highways 63 or 27. You can find trail maps on the Sawyer County Alliance site or www.northwestwisconsin.com is a great resource.
