Trail's End on Loma Linda Farm Location and Serenity Highlands

The Cabin rests on a south facing hillside on Loma Linda Farm in Highlands, NC. Just a 5 minute drive to Main Street yet, worlds away from the hustle and bustle. Hiking enthusiasts will love that we're just a short walk to the heads of the Glen Falls and Chinquapin trails. The Cabin is fully equipped and appointed with comfort and serenity in the forefront. The big covered porch is a lovely spot to enjoy the view, read, or even catch up with emails if you must. Pet friendly with prior approval.

The space
Best suited for 1 or 2 people. A couple with one or two small children works well with the queen size living room sofa bed opened up for the kids. A small fenced yard surrounds the front of the cabin - safe for your small children and pets.

Guest access
The whole home is yours to enjoy as well as the fenced front yard. The only exception is the owner's closet which is one of two closets in the bedroom. The washer and dryer are reserved for guests booking 7 nights or longer.

*** Please enjoy our horses and dogs from a distance. Please don't feed them anything and be sure to keep your pets out of their designated areas. Thank you.

WINTERTIME NOTE:
Please know that during the winter months, the mountain weather can get tricky with extreme cold, ice and snow storms. The power could go out and so could the internet. The cabin does have a gas fireplace that runs without electricity so at least you'll be cozy and warm!
And, if the driveway ices over, you may need to walk up the hill from the road to the cabin. The likelihood of any of this happening is pretty low but I don't want you to have any adverse surprises during your trip.

PETS:
We love animals and are happy to provide a home away from home for you and your well traveled pets. We do have several restrictions and therefore require prior approval as outlined in our house rules. Please contact host prior to requesting to book and select that you will be bringing pets (which is located as part of your number of guests section). This will generate our $50 pet fee which will be added to your reservation once you have booked it.

Great Highlands Cabin

Nice stay
Very nice, peaceful location. Bed very comfortable and good kitchen! Was with my two dogs and we had a run in with a copper head at the Glen Falls trail (dog was struck) and Linda went above and beyond to put me in touch with her veterinarian. She was really fantastic. Can’t thank her enough. I had to leave in a rush without properly closing up and she was so understanding. Only thing I’d mention is the wifi is pretty bad- tried working a bit and the wifi wasn’t strong at all, and it’s hard to make calls from the house. But I think most people visit to get away from all that :) overall 10/10 recommend and would book again!

Fall Leaves get-a-way
My husband and I came back to Trail’s end to get a look at the fall leaves. We usually come up in the summer. It was a quick trip, but that is part of why we love Linda’s property. It is private and scenic, but 5 minutes from downtown and within walking distance to great hikes. Linda helped us identify the best time to come up for what we were looking for. She is helpful, friendly, responsive and her home provides us all we need. We’ll be back again!🍁💕

Perfect Spot
This house was everything we needed, and at the right price, for our Fall weekend in Highlands with our pets. A relaxing respite from our days full of exploration. Enjoyed early morning jaunts into town for Calders coffee & treats, and to admire the inns’ and shops’ flower and pumpkin displays, then set off for hikes in the forest before the crowds awoke. Had a great lunch at dog friendly SlabTown Pizza. Enjoyed a festival in Cashiers, long evening walks at the nature center, and several live music shows. Even saw a bear in town sneaking apples from behind the cafe. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Secluded Spot but still close to everything
Sweet house nestled in the woods but surprisingly close to downtown Highlands. We found the home clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything that we needed to prepare simple meals. We would definitely stay again.

The cabin was great and it was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of town yet also be only a short drive from town. The proximity to Glen Falls Park and the waterfalls there is a wonderful bonus. Linda is a wonderful host.

Peaceful porch at great location
Perfect location for access to hiking trails and near downtown Highland— the long porch was a perfect place to end active days. My dog appreciated the fenced in strip of grass so he could enjoy being off leash and enjoying the quiet surrounded by mountain beauty. Cabin was comfortable and clean.

Highlands get away
We stayed 3 weeks at Linda’s sweet cabin. Location is fabulous….2 miles from Downtown Highlands and just 1/2 mile from Glenn Falls (the actual falls). She has 2 beautiful horses, who are very friendly. Everything on the VRBO site about the cabin is exactly as promised.

Perfect getaway
My husband and were looking for a clean cabin just for the two of us and our dog. We wanted to be close to downtown Highlands. It turned out to be an easy drive less than 5 minutes away. We loved that we could walk to do amazing hikes at Glen Falls. Our view from the porch was beautiful and we appreciated that the house was simply appointed with just what we needed and without too much stuff or clutter. Best of all it was clean and the bed was comfortable! Linda responded to our inquiries quickly and was very gracious and considerate. We will definitely be back!

Very pleasant 4 star stay
As advertised with a modest run area for our small dog with double gates! A very narrow “driveway” was somewhat challenging, but the nearby turnaround area made it easier. Some TLC would’ve made it a 5 star experience. Linda’s guidance proved extremely helpful while a grill (preferably propane) would have been a plus. All in all, despite my wife’s limited mobility, we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.

Great Getaway
The cabin is in a great location near Glen Falls, town center and any place you want. to go in the area. The great part is that it is also secluded. The place had everything we needed, and Linda was a wonderful host - very responsive! The only suggestion I would make is a new bed in the main bedroom.

Adorable mountain get a way!
