Bathroom: No towel racks, regulating the shower temperature to a satisfactory warmth was virtually impossible . Bedroom had a very small heater which took about 12 hours to warm up the room. The bed was very uncomfortable- rather old and lumpy. There was a table and only one chair for 2 people. The spare blanket had holes in it.

Good location
Great location and cheap. Room was clean but its quite cold with no heating except a lil floor heater. Probably wouldnt stay here in winter. But it was clean and easy to access everything around hobart.
No lighting on stairs ( we were on second floor) inside or outside. Tiles missing from the floor of the shower. No shower curtain. No main light- light is about 2cm above to and is a spotlight! Mini fridge in awkward spot to use. No toilet roll holder. Paper simply sitting on back of toilet.
Good location and comfortable with lovely view from window and comfortable bed.
Needs some maintenance - threadbare carpet in entrance. Window didn't close properly
No service of rooms: rubbish, cleaning, fresh towels
Only good for a place to sleep if you are desperate - had to stuff the pillows with clothes (the pillow on their own is thin and extremely clumpy... very slept on!), the bed has caused me to visit my chiro (we were there for 3 nights), would have had a better shower if i was able to run myself under the sink tap (but the sink is the size of my hand and the under pipe is broken... not that it matters as the room floods when you turn the shower on anyway!). If you're not used to sleeping with lights flooding through moldy curtains, then bring an eye mask (and earplugs, doors seem to slam at all hours of the night)! Also, don't stress if you forget your underwear, there is some hanging in the cupboard from previous tenants... yuck!
This is a harsh review, yet i was somewhat catfished by the photos and did not get what i was expecting at all... i did look for other hotels (happily willing to lose the money we had already spent on this accommodation) but there was no vacancy anywhere. The major saving grace is that it is in a great location, about a 10 min walk downhill to Salamanca Place.
The carpet on the stairs was filthy and worn. Thete were no flyscreens in bedroom. The panel under the windows was pealing and dirty. The bathroom door was completely ruined by water. The shower spilled all over the floor. There was no power point in the bathroom. There was no storage space or hooks either............. very unusable. Nothing was replaced (milk etc?) even though we stayed 5 days......very poor .
What I liked was leaving. What I didn't like was bathroom floor flooded when taking a shower. WiFi was out of range. Very few TV channels. No Foxtel. Only heater lamps in bathroom, too hot in Sommer. Bedside lamps inoperable, wires to switches cut off and left in bedhead. Stairs to all levels a trip hazard. Carpet on each step worn right through to timber. Fridge not cold enough. Insufficient car parking. Very dirty inside room Shower head about 1.5 metres from floor. There was a bad musty smell in the room. The floor under the carpet had holes in it. I don't know how this Motel is allowed to have guests it breaks several Health & Safety regulations. At $119 per night is relatively cheap for the area, but it's a Hell Hole. Don't go there.
The rooms we had were nothing like the photos. The whole place is in dire need of some maintenance .

Sadly if you aren’t staying on the ground floor there are a lot of stairs to drag your suitcase us and down, hard if you are elderly

Property really needs some maintenance to enhance its appeal. Worn carpet on internal stairs. Room smelt stuffy when we entered. Like curtains needed refreshing. It was clean, good size room, but only 1 chair in a triple room.
Blue Hills Motel is well situated to explore Battery Point, Salamanca Place and central Hobart. The owners have obviously begun a renovation, our room at least had been modernised although the bathroom was tiny and fittings were already broken, but there is a long way to go with the common areas. It is very affordable for its location, so if you can handle all that, it’s recommended.

Lack of car parking meant I had to park 100 metres away from the motel.
