Simone is an excellent host. The barracks are well set up with excellent amenities. Very close to the bridge and the town centre. Would highly recommend the Richmond Barracks. Good value for money.
The property was in a great location & Simone was so warm and welcoming. We especially loved the gardens and being able to use this space. The property was perfect for our family and we would strongly recommend.

Clean, quiet and safe. Richmond Barracks is an excellent place to stay and explore the region.
Richmond Barracks was a delightful place to stay. The Cellar was comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for a stay. It was within easy walking distance of the Main Street and the historic walk around the town was lovely. It was also excellent value for money, I would recommend it highly.
I loved the shelves in bathroom and suitcase rack. Location to town was perfect walking distance. Bed comfy. Quiet area. Tv was a little high. Windows didn’t open.
We really enjoyed our stay both at the property and in Richmond. The Richmond Barracks are just a short walk from the mail street so far away enough to be quiet but near enough to be in the middle of things. The description of the property is accurate and Simone was on hand throughout our stay to help with anything we needed and just to be friendly. It is only a short walk to the Richmond Arms which was good for meals. If we return to Richmond we would definitely stay here again
Absolutely amazing stay. Beautiful little cottage and the area is amazing! Beds are so comfy and well above expectations. Recommend for anyone staying going to southern Tasmania.
Was great. The only thing was there needs to be a small light above the sink, and 1 light in the lounge area didnot work. Other than that was great. Will stay there again.
Very clean and cosy cottage, comfortable bed and pillows with lovely fresh sheets. So close to the Main Street and tourist spots, you can leave your car and walk

Almost a perfect weekend.
Clean, comfortable, handy. Proprietor needs to learn how to speak to people if accidents happen, which did during our stay. We did notify the proprietor, and had no qualms about paying toward the damage, but we still felt like we were spoken to like people trying to weasel out of our responsibility. Would have been return customers, but probably not now.
simone, the owner, could not possibly have done more to make our stay more pleasant. If you are going to richmond...which you should....i highly highly recommend staying here
Loved the history. Stayed 3 nights which gave us plenty of touring time around central Tas, return mid - late afternoon and time to walk around Richmond. Great pub for dinner. All the shops were interesting and the buildings are architecturally and historically interesting. The bridge is a magnificent example of convict construction. Walk underneath it. It's very interesting.
We stayed in the ”Lady Esther” cottage which was very comfortable and immacutely clean . The beds were very comfortable ,the linens top class and a very good shower . Our cousins from Sweden joined us and we found the cottage perfect for four and not at all crowded. Simone is an exceptional hostess .
