I generally stay at Wrest Point when I’m in Hobart. It’s easy to park and there’s a few dining options onsite if you don’t want to venture out. Quiet and comfortable.

Waterfront room not 4-star - very noisy! Could hear people having sex in the room next door and 2 rooms away as well as people talking and moving in the hallway throughout the night. It was lovely hearing the ducks and waterbirds though. The hot water pipes screamed every time any room used their shower, again, heard throughout the night from several rooms. There was no milk in the bar fridge, instant sachet coffee (no coffee machine!)!! Minimal toiletries, 2 x small bathtowels, no robes. Room and bed were comfortable, despite being very noisy and lack of facilities. Great venue for walking between accommodation, casino, food, and convention centre. Good choice of food options, though recommend to book.

The Water Edge rooms have been renovated and I liked the colour scheme. The view of the water was nice and I found the room comfortable and sufficient. The tap water for drinking was questionable, as the pipes are still the original galvanised pipes. I would recommend bringing your own water with you, though I don’t believe there’s any real health risk. The TV channels were limited, but ok. I enjoyed my stay and I’ll happily return again.

In this big casino they have only 2 lifts, only 1 was working in our entire stay for six days. You have to wait until you get the lift on 4th floor for around 10m or more. Very disappointing experience in this hotel.

The airconditioner stayed at just above 19° which is not good when it is freezing outside. The phone needed to be fixed. Lighting was too dim in room, not good lighting at all for applying makeup etc. Asked for trolley to be sentup for luggage at checkout. Ended up having to take luggage down ourselves.i am disabled travelling with my 18 year old granddaughter so this was not easy. The service desk was very helpful when items were brought yo theor attention or nei g asked anything. Beds were very comfortable.

stayed 7 nights in this hotel…the general feeling is welcoming-a comfortable place of rest after a day of outing/sightseeing. The views from the room were stunning. It drummed up the good vibes though some days were overcast! We were met by a very warm, friendly and helpful front desk staff - Der Mer. He set up our very positive first impression for our stay. Housekeeping was a little hit and miss. The room was kept tidy mostly but some on 2 occasions used cutleries were not cleared and cups were not cleaned up for some reasons. The overall maintenance and up keep of the surrounds were good, although the age of the buildings were seeping through. One of the lifts rattles a little when going up and down, but gets the job done. Will I return to stay in this hotel, yes I would. Do I recommend this hotel, certainly. The crowd was absent because of the winter season which makes the stay a touch more pleasant.
