I can't say enough. After a long drive, the Welcome Gift Basket was very appreciated. Located 15-20 from Grand Haven, Holland, and Saugatuck. You are surrounded by trees and very few neighbors. It is peaceful and calming. We were amused daily by the variety of birds at the feeders. The first floor bedroom was perfect for my 79 year old mom who joined us from California. The deck was lovely at night with the lights. It also makes a great backdrop for family photos. We have two Dobermans and a Mastiff, and we were perfectly comfortable with the fencing in the backyard. The house itself was well supplied with anything you can think of: dog bowls, boogie boards, beach towels, beach chairs, a great grill, etc.
We rented a sport boat with Holland Water Sports and took the dogs. We sailed with Mort on Sweetwater River Sailing in Saugatuck. Then we enjoyed a pontoon with Grand Haven Boat Rentals.
Shopping in Grand Haven is always fun. The kids spent a fortune at Buffalo Bob's (two new skateboards). In Saugatuck, I highly recommend the Pink Patio with its unique gifts for outdoors.
Food was wonderful. For Grand Haven, we highly recommend Snug Harbor and you can't go wrong at the Toasted Pickle. For Saugatuck, you would have said the Mermaid Cafe, but it closed. As an alternative, I would recommend The Southerner, The Butcher, or The BARge.
Bob and Diane were wonderful hosts. We will surely be back. Thank you again for a family memory we will never forget.
