Great location near the A55. Staff were all friendly & efficient. Restaurant very busy. Tasty full breakfast cooked to your individual requirement. Limitless tea/ coffee/ toast. NB Pay extra for "speciality" coffees.
An excellent hotel. Staff were very helpful & friendly.
We were a party of 12 for the evening meal & both food & service was outstanding. Rooms were spacious & very comfortable

There is a big difference between the hotel and the pub area.
The hotel needs an uplift from the 1950s feel.
The view from the far end of the bar over the River Dee is stunning.
The reception area is unmanned, dark, eerie in it's atmosphere. One reception ist was eating a meal in reception
They serve an excellent NZ SB in the bar and the food was v good.

Helpful staff in a tired, run down hotel. The place has a very odd smell throughout and door locks on my room and at least one other didn't work, with no other security mechanisms. The bed in my room was uncomfortable with what felt like a poor quality mattress and the shower curtain in the bathroom smelled very off. The hotel is clean and tidy with a pub/restaurant attached. I won't be returning.
We stayed for one night while visiting Wales. The check in experience was fine and staff friendly. The room was OK - we could hear sounds from other rooms in the morning and the bathroom had mould spots near bath taps, but other than that it was clean and pretty comfortable. Restaurant looked really nice which I guess is the reason why almost all the photos are of the restaurant. English breakfast tasted good! Thank you.
Stamford Gate hotel was exactly what we needed. Staff were super friendly and accommodating when needing anything. Super easy to get too and secure parking all night.
We checked in at about 8:15pm (we rang to check this was ok as it was quite late), and were met by a lovely am. Who carried our cases to our room. This was such a friendly way to be met when we had been busy all day. He gave us all the information we needed to be settled and we let him know what time we would be down for breakfast. The beds were really comfortable and the room equipped with and good size TV, towels and tea, coffee and biscuits. There were other extras that were helpful too, such as a hairdryer and an extension lead for extra electricals. We went down to breakfast in the morning to be treated with really friendly staff again and a plentiful breakfast - a full English (with produce sourced from the local butcher) cooked to order and there was also a good range of cereals, jams and toast.
We loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come back!
