A comfortable and very clean home with stunning waterfront views. An authentic Old Florida "Homosassa Waterfront Retreat", ready for you, friends and family to enjoy. No Pets Allowed!

Centrally located near the Homosassa Springs for manatee viewing and the Gulf for secluded beaches, great fishing and catching scallops. Also it is located 12 miles from World Woods Golf Club, Florida’s only 5 star public course.

Look on the map and see the short easy walk from the home to waterfront restaurants and Tiki-bars. Forget something? Take a quick trip, walk or ride down the street, buy a gallon of milk, a bottle of wine, groceries, beer and more.

Explore the town of Homosassa with a boat ride, paddle or scenic drive to local restaurants, stores, shopping areas and attractions. Or choose instead to go off the beaten path and find your own secluded waterways. The special places nearby, where a mother manatee swims with her calf in clear waters full of fish. Places like the backyard deck where dolphin swim, manatee visit and friendly birds fly and visit each day. You'll be in the middle of everything you want and perfectly far enough away from it all.

The residence is fully furnished in every way. Comfortable beds sleep 2 adults and 1-2 children. Cook your meals in the fully equipped kitchen or walk outside to the backyard grill. Free cable television and free wireless Internet is included. Enjoy the screened outdoor Lanai or relax on the large waterside dock. Save your vacation money using the (included) kayaks. All available for your free use as our guests, with paddles and lot's of gear and extra's for water play or a fun trip to the nearby springs.

Have a rainy Florida day? Relax and enjoy yourself under the cover of the screened Lanai. We are one of just a few local vacation rentals, where you can also park your car under a large carport to stay dry as you come and go with family and friends.

Boaters will love the 20' deep water dock plus 59' more feet of "no-wake" seawall space and nearby Marina Boat Ramps. A boat trailer can be parked onsite. Boats of all sizes, kayaks, canoes and jet skis can be left ready to go and secured on the many dock areas. Walk out back and swim with the manatee or jump into your boat, kayaks or canoe, the large double waterfront lot provides over 100' of docking options.

The dock area is large and within arm's reach of the Manatees, Dolphins, River Otters and Fish. Watch and enjoy the local wildlife or catch fish and blue crabs right here. We include fishing rods, tackle and crab traps for your use. The sink located on the Dock will help you clean your fish & scallops, (plus keep your hands clean). Our Outdoor shower will take care of the rest!

Nice long weekend getaway
Just want to say we had a wonderful stay! Loved the 'Olde' Florida style, location and hospitality. We have a Vacation & Annual rental company in Sarasota...thus we also need time to chill and relax! We truly enjoyed Homosassa Springs and the wildlife park, our Springs boat tour with Captain Jeff who docks at MacRae's, Monkey Island, drinks and fish tacos at The Shed, bought red snapper from Shellie's to bring home, feeding the blue heron hotdogs and playing card games. Very relaxing! We'll be back, thank you again.

We had a blast!
This property was perfect for our stay. There were plenty of fun things to keep the kids entertained while the adults cooked and relaxed after boating on the river. We enjoyed the crab traps the most - we experimented with different bait to see what they liked the most. It was perfect, we are already looking forward to coming back again.

We enjoyed our time in Homosassa. Beds were comfortable after long days out having fun in the sun! We loved being able to keep our boat at the dock. Our son enjoyed use of the kayak. Great location to visit the springs and also to go out to scallop. We enjoyed this stay very much.

Extended Weekend
We were looking for an extended weekend away on the water to relax. We accomplished just that. The house was cute, clean, and had nice views of the water. Lots of natural light which is a downside if you want to sleep in. The one recomendation I have is to add curtains to the bedroom to allow sleeping in. It was an overall good trip.

The cottage with it's great location was comfortable, clean and well equipped. It was peaceful, we saw manatees with calves in the canal and we also enjoyed just relaxing in the lanai. Ray was very responsive to a couple of questions & concerns we had. Great stay, hope to visit again!

Clean, comfortable, and well furnished.
This is the second time we have rented from Ray, and just like the last time, the home was clean and comfortable. I appreciated having access to the kayaks and fishing gear. My only complaint is the dock could use a revamping. We got a couple splinters when barefoot on the dock. All in all, a very good experience and I would rent again.

Great get away
Had a wonderful time during the manatee overwintering season. The weather was not great, but the house is so cozy and quiet and the kids absolutely loved it. We had a small issue with heat (in Florida!) and Ray got back to me immediately and helped me resolve it. The porch is wonderful and the steam from the river in the mornings was the best alarm clock. There is a blue heron who will visit you, which was a far cry from the robins and pigeons of the NYC metro area, and my kids loved it. We did have an issue with hot water that no one can explain, but it did not take away from our adventure. This is a rustic old Florida experience. Crystal River is quiet and not very touristy compared to other Florida beach towns and totally worth it. When my kids arrived, my youngest said "this is the best hotel ever!"

Homosassa Cottage on Canal
The cottage is a comfortable, well equipped, peaceful spot for a long or short stay. We really appreciated the equipment that was available for us to use like kayaks, lawn chairs, fishing rods and tackle. The screened porch is wonderful! and the kitchen is well equipped if you like to cook. There were two of us and it was plenty of room for us. It also would work for 3 people. We spent time on the water, went to Crystal River for a fishing trip and to the State Park as well as just hanging out and enjoying the warm weather. The communication was great and we had no issues with check-in and out. There was a small issue with the air conditioning but it was dealt with promptly. We would recommend the Cottage to explore this very cool area of Florida.

no time to wash dry and fish early.
had issues at home, came for 2hrs on sat. wanted to fish on sunday but wasnt aware that sheets and towel had to be washed, apparently my mistake. when i got house rules it was to late for back up my wife couldnt stay horses to feed. and fishing had to be early. nice place I'll try again!

Would absolutely recommend this property. We would definitely stay here again. Very peaceful neighborhood. Close to restaurants and state parks. This home has everything you need,no need to bring anything. We caught alot of fish right off the dock. The kayaks were a great treat. Barb and Ray were very easy to communicate with. We had no problems at all. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. Thanks so much.
