Located AT THE TOP of the Diamond Head Beach Hotel, this penthouse studio has panoramic views of Diamond Head to the east and Waikiki to the west, including ocean, mountain and park views. Some guests have likened it to a crows nest due to the outstanding views.

Cozy and clean, can’t beat the view and location. Jan was a great communicator and her listing is accurate. We’ve stayed in various Waikiki locations and this was ideal for us. If you plan to rent a parking space, a mid-size SUV is the largest you should get.

Peaceful, Beautiful Hawaii at its Best!
We had to, sadly, say goodbye to this wonderful spot at the Diamond Head Hotel & Residences after 8 nights there. We cannot emphasize enough how much we enjoyed our stay. The studio is exactly as described, beautiful, well appointed, with outstanding views from both sides, everything we could need to make our stay as comfortable as our own home. Jan, the owner, was very welcoming and easy to communicate with. She made sure that we had everything that we needed, and answered questions quickly when we had them. My favorite part of our stay was the cooling trade winds that blew through the apartment, the sound of the waves, the change of the weather, and the light at sunrise and sunset. There really are no words adequate enough to describe how much we enjoyed our stay. It certainly changed the way we always viewed staying on this shore, in town, this close to Waikiki. We tend to favor the North Short, but spending time in the Diamond Head neighborhood, with the park, the little hidden beaches, and so may places to walk in the morning, certainly changed our minds. It was simply idyllic. We will most definitely return at some point in the future, and if not us next, some of our Ohana because they most certainly will hear of our experience and see our photos! Mahalo for everything - every little thoughtful touch, your kindness, and for sharing it with us. We loved every minute of our stay.

A perfect paradise
I can't say enough good things about the property and the owner. As soon as I booked I knew we were in good hands. The owner, Jan, is wonderful at communication and offers a wealth of information to help you get the most out of your stay. Inside the room, make sure to check the binder filled with great tips and suggestions. Additionally, the room itself is so well appointed. You can tell that a lot of thought and care was put into creating a restful space with amenities I have not had at other stays in Hawaii. And the place itself, WOW. The views are incredible. The location is perfect, being in the city but not in the city. I have stayed in Waikiki and while it is nice in some aspects, it can be noisy and even a bit stressful, if constant activity is not what you are looking for. This property is the antidote. Also, the room is immaculate, and the property is secure and well-maintained. Also, you can't get closer to the water. It's right there! You can get in the water anytime you want, which I did, from an access staircase close by. I am an avid snorkeler and to me, this was more than I had hoped for. I also appreciated greatly the ability to use the hosts beach equipment. I normally have to borrow it from my local family, which is great as well, but I didn't have to bother anyone this time! You cannot go wrong if you book this property. I am so grateful to Jan for making my trip as stress-free and enjoyable as possible! I will book again for sure. Thank you!

Sweet Experience in “The Bird’s Nest”
We stayed a week and the penthouse was fantastic with incredible views, wonderful location with small private comfortable grassy area for lounging and swim. Jan is a great communicator. It was great to be able to “drop in” to waikiki then return to the quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend this place.

Property is on Kalakaua close to Diamond Head Road and set apart from Waikiki, but still easy walking distance to shops, cafes, restaurants as well as Kapiolani park, the zoo and aquarium. Great running/walking route to Kahala with scenic vistas. Street parking was easily available and free. Love the backyard/lanai- beautiful location for watching sunrise/sunset with unobstructed view of the ocean. Swimming/surfing off the sea wall, but best snorkeling is 1/2 block away at Kamaina beach. The room was immaculate and tastefully decorated, well stocked with toiletries, towels, coffee, kitchen utensils (microwave) even beach equipment. Room is small and Penthouse description is misleading- it is #4 of 5 units, so not a great view from either side and no personal lanai. Still, a great bargain given the location.

We love the Gold Coast and come here every 3 months. We’ve stayed in many units here. We liked this unit, but know that there is no outside balcony for sitting as part of the unit. Yes, there is a ground area which is great. We just like to start our mornings right off the unit being able to sit outside. Unit is clean, Jan is a good communicator. Also know that the bathroom and kitchen are kind of like one room. The bathroom and kitchen sink are the same. It’s better for one person and a short stay. I do recommend it though.

Good Choice For Most
This property is perfect for those who value time on the beach as it is very close to the beach. The view is awesome. The room is somewhat more like a New York sublet than what I expected. Its small. Just know that. Also, if shopping and being in the bustling city is more your speed, I would stay elsewhere closer to the shops. Its about .08 mile which is t terrible but gets annoying if you just want to go to ABC store. Overall, really great experience and would recommend!

Had a great stay. Only about one mile walk to Waikiki so we got the quiet of Diamond Head but a short jaunt to the faster pace of Waikiki. Rented through Turo twice. Both cars were only 1/2 a mile away so it was very centrally located. Jan was great! Very helpful.
