Hurricane Helene Update:
The Creek House is open!
Friends, Family, and Helene Volunteer Discounts available!
Power, internet, hot tub, and creature comforts in the home are restored and the home is fully operational!
Hot Springs downtown experienced flooding, and the main downtown section and Hot Springs Resort and Spa are in various stages of cleanup and repair. Each of these businesses are closed.
The businesses that are open in town include Sara Jo’s Gas Station, Smoky Mountain Diner, Dollar General, and a couple of beverage/small grocery stores. They would love your business.
Many trails are accessible around the area, and Hot Springs is a central location for adventures in Western North Carolina, East Tennessee, and the Smokey Mountains National Park. Nearby attractions are the Biltmore Estate, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and more.
All major roads into and out of Hot Springs are accessible and safe.
The Creek House is a family favorite and a great place to gather and enjoy the area and each other in Hot Springs, NC. The house is also a comfortable retreat for a couple or group of friends who are looking to get away from it all.
The house sleeps up to 8 guests and has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, plus a bonus room with a set of twin beds off of the upstairs "master", full kitchen, living room, dining table for 6 guests, large covered back deck over the creek, outdoor hot tub, and direct access to one of the best swimming holes and fishing spots on Spring Creek.
The master bedroom is located at the top of the stairs and has a king-sized bed and en suite bathroom. The upstairs bathroom includes a whirlpool garden tub.
There is a bedroom with 2 twin beds that is adjacent to the upstairs king bed. Guest must pass through the loft bedroom to get to the twin bedroom. They are separated by a curtain. This considered a bonus room. Good for families and friends who can share space.
The main level features a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and another bedroom with 2 twin-sized beds. The bathroom downstairs includes a shower only along with a laundry area that is available to guests.
The kitchen is fully equipped and adorable with a dining table to host your delicious meals. There is also a grill to use if you are fortunate enough to catch your dinner in the creek.
The living room is cozy and has a gas fireplace to enjoy during the cooler months.
The large back deck is the best place in the house during Spring, Summer, and Fall. You will see water birds, beavers, and otters if you are lucky and relax with the sounds of the creek below. A 4-person hot tub is located on the deck.
Hurricane Helene tore out the stone steps leading down to the creek from the Creek House lower dick.
We are working on getting this restored and hope that it will be rebuilt by the Spring of 2025. For now, you can still make your way down to the creek from the property, just not as easily as with the steps.
Hot Springs is a great destination in all seasons! The weather is mild, and roads are tended in the wintertime. We love to hike the Lover's Leap trail on cool, sunny days when things are a bit quieter around here. Hot Springs is central to some great hiking and exploring in the WNC and East Tennessee area. And a trip to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville can be a truly wonderful experience anytime of the year.
Summer is a wonderful season to enjoy many things to do outside, including rafting and tubing, horseback riding, and venturing up to Max Patch Bald.
Spring sees beautiful mountain wildflowers and hikers traveling through on the Appalachian Trail.
Fall never disappoints with endless potentials to see the trees changing at different elevations and finishing your day with a fire and soak in the natural hot springs or a beer at Big Pillow Brewing.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the home and area, and we hope you will consider the Creek House for your vacation!
