I read the reviews before I booked, and this is not the choice I would have picked. It's extremely unsafe, loud music right next door, an porn place next door with people walking up and down the streets. The first morning we were greeted with someone's dirty underwear at the bottom of the steps. Cigarette butts every where. An at the entrance is a literal pile of shopping carts full of I don't know what, nor do I care to know. Had I not paid for this in advance, I would have turned around and found somewhere else to stay. Or just stay in my car would have been better. We had to push the chair and desk against the door because we felt so unsafe.

Seedy Motel in a Sketchy Area
I wish you'd be more clear about motel offerings with no elevators. As a solo traveler, I don't feel safe in 1st floor rooms (or any outward-facing rooms TBH), but stairs are REALLY HARD for me. I need to be able to exclude motels like this one, particularly because they also tend to be in Very Unsafe areas. This was a typical seedy motel in a sketchy neighborhood, with junky furniture, thin towels, etc. It provided a place to sleep, but I'll never go back.
