The parking is at outrageously expensive. $45 night. Not enough people helping at the front desk so many lines and customers dissatisfied. Ask for a bathrobe, they don’t have. It’s been while since I stayed at a double tree and I see why. Hotel is old! Furniture is old! The sofa in my room looked like some sat there for years without getting up for water once. 2 elevators were out of order. Waited so long one time that we took 13 flights of stairs down. Gym is decent. Balcony hasn’t been cleaned since the building was built, and no furniture on balcony. Definitely a budget hotel at this point. Hard Pass!

The hotel provides no receipt upon check-out, instead they email it. Upon checking the receipt, I noticed a false charge of $29 for a Lodgenet movie that I never ordered! And there's no way to dispute the charge because the 713 area code number given on the receipt (and on the Expedia itinerary) does not even work!

My Fiancé and I stayed over the weekend 11/21-11/24 for a wedding family. The front desk staff since our arrival were nothing but spectacular. Everyone so nice and friendly! Bartender was great! Everyone was telling where to go for dinks, food and places to see. The room was beautiful and we picked the city view (please do, especially if you have balcony in the room) it was beautiful. We will definitely come back!

Here’s a refined version of your review: I recently stayed at the DoubleTree Hotel in Houston, Texas, and overall, my experience was just okay. While the staff was excellent and the location was ideal—right in the heart of the Galleria—I found the hotel itself to be rather dated. The furniture could definitely use an update, and on some floors, there was a noticeable propane smell that was quite off-putting and even a bit nauseating. Addressing these issues would significantly enhance the guest experience.
