This was the worst hotel experience I have had. Airport shuttle was included in the room price but there was no answer to four calls and an email to the hotel to arrange pickup. After waiting over an hour in the summer heat I took a taxi to the hotel, which was an additional expense, and it was after 7pm when I arrived. The hotel turned out to be very basic compared with the online photos, and the desk person then advised me that there was no power due to heavy storm activity during the previous week, which meant there was no lighting, no air conditioning, no hot water, no swipe key access to the room, and no breakfast, which was included in the room price. He also told me that the water was unsafe for drinking, but did not provide any bottled water. By this time it was too late to find another hotel so I accepted the room, bought some bottled water from the gas station next door, used my torch to see in the dark, and had a cold shower after a stiflingly hot night. I understand that the power failure was not the hotel’s fault but I was disappointed with the poor service, lack of communication, and having to pay full price as the booking was made through Expedia, not directly with the hotel. The desk person did provide a small tub of yoghurt and a banana for breakfast, and shuttle service back to the airport. Nevertheless I would certainly not stay there again, nor would I recommend the hotel to anyone else.
