Featuring original, traditional Pise (rammed earth) walls combined with stylish, modern comforts, our spacious cottage and expansive 7acre grounds offers a stunning country break-away to soothe the soul.

Recently refurbished, "Old Jerringomar Homestead" was one of the original sheep stations in the district and is nestled between vast country hills, ancient gum trees in a blissfully peaceful environment.

Escape to peace and relaxation. Shower under the stars if you will, then relax around a blazing open fire.
Watch the evening glow slowly make way for starry skies from the expansive verandas. Feel the rhythm of the ancient Southern Tableland valleys.

Chat with the 5 pet goats over the fence. Listen to the bees hum in the lavender and fruit trees. Watch native birds and wallabies abound.

Take a short drive to the extraordinary rock formations at Darby’s Falls or observe constellations at the Observatory. It's a mere 15 minutes to Wyangala Dam where you can enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, a bbq with friends and family and other recreational activities. Enjoy a visit to the famous Japanese Gardens in Cowra or join the hot-air balloon festivities in Canowindra.

Guests staying in the cottage have full facilities, kitchen, dining area, laundry, tv lounge with open fireplace, new bathroom, as well as new outside shower. Outside, covered verandas and gas BBQ.

Lots of areas to chill in the house and garden where you can relax, chat and read. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can cook anything from a gourmet meal to a simple cheese toastie. Appliances include gas oven and cooktop, coffee machine, microwave and fridge/freezer.

The two spacious bedrooms are furnished for your comfort with garden / country views where you can spot the resident goats, neighboring cattle and sheep as well as kangaroos and wallabies roaming. The bedrooms feature queen sized beds.

The cottage has a new modern bathroom with free standing shower offering rural views through the uniquely placed windows. There is also a new outside shower.

The lovely large garden offers expansive rural views from the front and back verandas. The small creek on the north-eastern perimeter adds to the property's country charm.

To ensure your comfort during the summer months, powerful fans and a mobile air-conditioner are provided. The open fireplace and electric blankets on the beds ensure you are cozy and warm during winter months.

The property is a bee sanctuary for European honey bees as well as native bees. The hives are a safe distance away from the house from where guests can safely enjoy observing the bees go about their business.

Lovely spot in winter (great fire)!
Loved it; beautiful house in nice location but still only 20 minutes from Cowra. Attractions include Lachlan River, Wyangala Dam and Milky Way overhead. Only suggestion would be a wall heater in the bathroom.

A rural hideaway in the Cowra area
The old Jerringomar homestead is an historic home that has been added to, located on the Frogmore road about 37km from Cowra. The road is fully sealed all the way (at least via Darby's Falls). There are two double bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, large lounge and dining room, plus an entrance area and extensive, sunny verandahs and large grounds. The setting is idyllic and restful, helped by the goats who occupy the paddocks adjoining. However, it would be unfair not to mention some reservations. The house is, in our view, overly cluttered with a miscellany of bric-a-brac, books, magazines etc.. In colder weather it is also a cold house. There is an open fire that can be used, and an electric heater, which warm the lounge-dining rooms, but the rest of the premises are unheated. There is a heavy reliance on a number of powerboards as the only way to power everything. Internet, as in much of rural Australia, is very poor, but our Telstra mobiles also struggled. A landline phone appears not to work, so, were there an emergency, help would be hard to summon. And I must mention the "doors" on the bathroom - a pair of saloon type doors that afford minimal privacy. Were you sharing the house with another couple, you'd need to know each other pretty well. Overall, while we did enjoy our stay, the property is, in our view, somewhat overpriced and comes with reservations.

Beautiful country escape
We had a lovely stay in your beautiful country cottage. We loved the sheep and goats, especially the cute kids, and our dog loved having lots of space to run in the fully enclosed yard. The garden is beautiful and I tried hard to enjoy all the shady garden seats at least once to sit and enjoy the view or read a book. The well-stocked kitchen was greatly appreciated and the shower-with-a-view was a fun experience (for a family of townies). Highly recommend the Japanese Garden and POW memorial in Cowra. We had a thoroughly enjoyable few days. Thank you!

Country cottage getaway
A great spot to get away from the world. A little isolated, but that’s what we were looking for. Rug up in winter! The quiet nights by the fire, with a glass of wine were very enjoyable. Great to be able to have our furry companions along for the stay.
