Exceptional

We visited CML during the dry season and selected it for its closeness to the national park and some of its most famous treks. The room we stayed in was spacious, warm (with a fireplace stocked with plenty of wood) and light. The water was fresh to drink from the tap (which is a bonus here in Peru!) and was warmed by solar panels; likewise, the shower stayed warm for a long time and maintained good levels of pressure.
CML offered a choice of delicious breakfasts in the morning, packed lunches at an additional cost for trekking and a family-style dinner with other guests at 6pm which helped to add to the ambience and atmosphere in the lodge. The staff were very friendly with excellent local knowledge about the weather, trekking conditions and other information that we needed for our time in Huaraz.
All in all, we had an excellent experience at CML. It is in an ideal location for those who want to avoid being in the town of Huaraz and who also want to be close to the national park; we were about 3-4km away from the entrance to Pitec which is the gateway to a number of treks. We would definitely visit again.
