Gorgeous Emerald Coast Beachfront Home; Bring Friends & Family

LAS TRINITARIAS (another word for bougainvillea) is a splendid, 2011 built two-story beachfront home located on the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico's Emerald Coast (named for the emerald green waters) in Sisal, Yucatán, Mexico. Sisal is a seaport town located 50 minutes from Mérida – the capital city of Yucatán state, a named “UN City of Peace” and a recently designated "Pueblo Mágico" (Magic Town).

The house is located in a quiet area of upscale private beach homes around 3.5 km from “downtown” Sisal and its newly renovated pier. There you can shop for groceries, enjoy water sports, or indulge in fresh seafood and a cold drink at a beachfront restaurant. Unlike Progreso, where the masses from Mérida descend, Sisal is an uncrowded and safe fishing village where you can relax and enjoy yourself amidst an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

This 3965 square foot home has 5 ocean-view bedrooms – each with built-in wood closets, air conditioning and ceiling fans – including super-comfortable beds: 1 king, 4 queen, 1 twin and 1 queen futon. Four bedrooms have in-room bathrooms with showers and there are an additional 3 half-baths including one in the “maid’s room” which functions as a sixth bedroom. The home features a well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, an island and a pass-though opening to the outdoor sit-up bar; and a combination living room / dining room with a retractable glass wall opening to the ocean-view patio which sports a large gazebo with built-in sofas, an in-ground heated pool and a grassy area (to keep your dog happy).

The beach behind our house is effectively private and the waters are almost always very calm with a gradual slope that is still only chest-deep 400 feet in at most times - perfect for young children and all levels of swimmers. Throughout any given day you’re likely to see a constant stream of butterflies, pelicans diving for fish, and an amazing array of other birds. In the early evening enjoy a cocktail on the Flamingo View Terrace and, depending on the season, watch hundreds of flamingos returning home to the cienega for the night as the sun sets over the ocean. While you’re not lazing about, you can visit ancient Mayan ruins; explore caves; swim in a cenote; or visit the museums, restaurants and shopping of Mérida.

Satellite TV is included with over a dozen English-language channels in addition to Spanish-language channels. WiFi Internet is also included, with speed suitable for video streaming and video calls. Maid/Grounds service is included. The pool will be maintained, and patio will be swept as necessary almost every day except Sunday. Floors, walls, window sills, etc. will be cleaned, linens and towels will be washed and bathrooms cleaned every 3-4 days. Cooking service is optionally available - please request the menu.

Our fully-fluent Spanish/English-speaking property manager is on-call to handle any unforeseen issues during your stay.

One month at Trinitarias
Lovely, spacious house, gorgeous beach which we often had to ourselves, unspoiled location, and a charming little town. We lived here for a full month, working remotely and enjoying the leisurely pace and delightful weather. Ricardo and the crew were welcoming and extremely accommodating. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable.

The road from hellz
The house is beautiful, the property manager is fantastic and the setting is perfect, BUT the house is on the far side of sisal. we knew it was a dirt road, I could deal with that but this road is pretty much washed out in many places, it takes 15-20 minutes to drive just over a mile because you can only go around 2-3 miles per hour. The cars is like a bucking bronco, to many holes to avoid them, constantly bottoming out. Find this reason alone I don’t regret this property, I would not return unless the road is completely upgraded.

Idyllic family vacation
Stayed at Los Trinitarios with a group of family and friends of all ages (8 months to 65 years). Alberto was a dream to work with, even meeting us on his motorcycle at 11pm to help us find the house when we were lost in town. The suggestions of tours and local vendors were phenomenal. This included a personal chef cooking delicious Yucatecan cuisine, in-home massage and soundbath service, and a boat cruise out to a kayaking spot at a cenote with fresh ceviche at the end! The setting is idyllic, super private, and ideal for families. The people of Sisal are warm and helpful. We are so grateful for this adventure and can't wait to come back!

Good get-away
Manager of the property was very responsive and helpful. Although there is no sea view from the downstairs, it is nice to have privacy in the pool area. Things to improve- - The quality of the bedding was poor. The house itself had deferred maintenance issues - - like a loose pool railing and a difficult to operate sliding screen door. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the oven was not operable, especially since the barbecue is tiny and delapitated. Need sharp knives (or at least a sharpener). On the plus side, lots of towels, nice lounges at the pool, lots of drinking water, and, of course, the beach. Overall, an enjoyable stay. Just need more attention to detail.

WHAT A PLACE... A little piece of heaven on earth!
We spent Christmas week here and we couldnt be happier. Ricardo and Beto are amazing! We were in the midle of nowhere but at the same time a short 10 min drive to town of sisal where we could get everything we needed. We lost power one night but the house have its own power plant and we didnt miss a beat. Thank you guys. Amazing place

Sisal
The house has plenty of room for a large family. The property manager is great and will do whatever you need to have a great stay. There are lots or reviews talking about the bugs here. Yes it’s true you are in a very remote location just have the proper clothing and bug spray. It is a great place to get away from everything and stroll the beach. There are so many shells on the beach so best to have some type of beach shoes.

Beautiful Beach Location!
Our group of 11 people enjoyed 4 nights at this remote, secluded beachfront house. Mitch, Ricardo and Adriana were great to work with and answered all of our questions promptly. Ricardo arranged transportation for part of our group to/from Merida airport. Adriana cooked two dinners for us which were excellent. Although you are only a couple miles from Sisal, the road to get there is very rough so you have to drive slow and it takes about 20 minutes each way. There is not a lot in Sisal, but you can get staples. We found that Hunumca was better for a bigger grocery run but it's an hour round trip. Try to bring more than you think you need! Everything in the house was in working order and we had no issues. There are LOTS of biting bugs (mosquitoes?), but it's a remote location so it was to be expected. We basically had to go indoors after sundown, but enjoyed the beach and pool all day long. Thanks Mitch, Ricardo and Adriana!

Beautiful beach and great service
1. Ricardo the property manager and Adriana the house keeper and cook were very attentive. They clearly cared about making us happy. The food was excellent. 2. Sisal is an hour plus from Mérida and access to any purchasing beyond essentials in local bodegas. 3. We were there at the beginning of the rainy season so the bugs were terrible even with Ricardo’s almost daily fumigation. 4. Due to the harshness of the environment the house needs constant repairs, which unfortunately happened multiple times during our stay. 5. The beach was as special as described and had lots of shells. 6. Had we had air conditioning in the common area (not just the bedrooms) the experience would have been 100% better. 7. Over all we had a good 2 weeks.

Beautiful, fully equipped home on the water with lots of privacy.
This house is very much off the beaten path. A vehicle is recommended and it takes longer to get to and from Merida than maps shows due to speed bumps, one way streets, etc. but if “away from it all” is what you’re looking for then look no further. The host and property manager, Ricardo where both very good to deal with. Ricardo went out of his way to make sure that we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. Thank you!!

Beautiful and well equip house for a luxurious beach front holiday
Myself and friends had an amazing time here! The house was spacious, exceptionally clean and very beautiful. Particularly good for a big sized group. All the bedrooms and communal spaces were well thought out and well equip. The outside pool and 30 second walk to the beach made our stay here unforgettable. The kitchen was also well equip for cooking meals but the nearby town Sisal offers delicious fresh seafood. The property manager Ricardo was incredibly hospitable and answered all our queries before and during our stay. Would highly recommend !

The GREAT and the not so good...
First, the owner Mitch has been wonderful with communication and correcting the negative aspects of the house to the best of his ability during our stay. The layout, pool, outdoor area and beach are perfect especially with a large group. Literally, the best family vacation location you could ask for especially the beach. In 6 days we saw 1 person. We fished off the beach, bbqd, enjoyed the amazing sunsets and moon-- had a blast. The house however is not without many issues. The overall cleanliness was a huge issue. The quality of furnishings was very disappointing to say the least. For a daily rental rate of 338 USD (high season) we were very disappointed. Mitch is aware of the issues and states he in the process of making some major improvements and I am confident he will follow through. We would gladly stay here again once the improvements have been made and new photos are posted.

Beautiful, and perfectly remote
The house is lovely - comfortable, lots of space, long quiet beachfront. He and the local staff were very helpful and we had a great stay. Sisal is a nice small town with a decent restaurant and small grocery store (good for replenishing beer, eggs, bread, etc.) Thanks Mitch!

The house has a beautiful patio and pool overlooking the ocean.
The view from the living room & all the bedrooms is spectacular. The house easily accommodates 12 people as does the patio. The place is very quiet and the beach, just a short walk down a path from the house, is very private and you can walk for miles with virtually no one else on the beach. Adrianna, the caretaker, is a wonderful cook and prepared a wonderful meal for us that we ate for 3 days!! She only speaks Spanish but is a delightful and helpful woman. Mitch, the owner, was extremely helpful and answered all my questions always in a very timely manner. A lovely quiet place.

Wonderful location & experience
I've stayed at various beaches along the emerald coast but this was my first visit to Sisal. I specifically wanted to stay in this location because I'd heard how pristine and virgin the beach is. I was not disappointed! Unlike many other beach locations, houses here are not built right on the beach. Instead, the beautiful vegetation is preserved on the dune and there is a path to the beach. The lots are also wide witch adds the feeling of seclusion. We stayed late November and there was not another soul on the beach except for a horseback rider one day passing through. The house itself is wonderful. There were 7 of us and we had plenty of space. The kids loved the pool and the short walk to the beach. Everything worked except for minor inconveniences. We had to call the caretaker to get the hot water heater going and the TV didn't work while there-- humidity takes its toll on electronics. But it was warm enough and we weren't there to watch TV so didn't affect our enjoyment one bit. Even so, Mitch was so kind as to give us a partial refund for the trouble. Very nice! It is recommended to have a car. Town is too far to walk and I don't think taxis are an option-- never saw one except rickshaws in town. The town itself is a 5 minute drive. Also one thing I would have done differently is dinner planning. We just showed up in town on Monday around 7PM and no restaurants were open. We were told that because its low season and Monday, that is the day off for most. On Tuesday we only found one open after some driving around. I wasn't expected that but anyway it worked out. If I had to do it again, I'd probably have pre-arranged a meal Monday evening. All in all, staying at Mitch's house was a great experience. I'd definitely recommend it for large families that want privacy.

Beautiful location, amazing views, somewhat off the beaten path
We had a wonderful family vacation. The owner Mitchell Auster was responsive to our needs and very helpful with information on special items that we wanted like a mariachi band to play at the house. Overall we had a great vacation - remember your bug spray! The place has beautiful foliage and landscaping but the bugs to come out at night!

Great house in a beautiful location away from the crowds!
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the house in Sisal. It is located away from the crowds in Progreso; the setting is beautiful and it is a great location for day trips to the different sites around the region. We were there for a week and fit in trips to Uxmal, Chichen, a couple haciendas and Celestun, and still had time to enjoy the beach and pool. The beach was all ours for the taking. Do bring a good amount of bug spray, there were quite a few mosquitoes during our stay though the locals mentioned it was in big part due to a shift of winds that week that doesn't happen often. There is a lagoon right next to Sisal where we saw many beautiful flamingos and canadian pelicans, actually a lot more than in Celestun. If you like fishing, don't miss a fishing trip with local fisherman Sergio and he will be happy to take you out on day trips to nearby flamingos and cenotes. The house itself is stocked with everything you will need, including a large amount of beach and bath towels, as well as sheets. The owner was extremely responsive to all communications prior and during our stay and refunded our deposit within days of our departure. Overall a great experience!
