Let's just say this stay started out a little rocky. We showed up to a house that was NOT clean. Floors, counters, sheets on bed, couch, etc were all dirty. Owner did quickly remedy the situation and get their cleaning crew back out to the house. After a second round of cleaning the house was definitely cleaner. If you like to sleep in, I recommend looking for another location or bringing a white noise generator. Like clockwork every morning the neighborhood dogs would start barking around 7 am. Game room is nice, but there is evidence of mold from water coming in during heavy rains. We witnessed this upon arrival. A long-term remedy for the water intrusion should be high on the priority list. Exterior of house, BBQ area, and Pool area could ALL use some TLC. Newer really nice Weber grill, but unfortunately it had never been cleaned and the grease in the bottom started on fire shortly after lighting. This place could easily be a 5-star rental with a little sweat equity and a day or two of a handyman's time.
Highlights. Kitchen and pantry were well stocked and great for our family time. Living room with woodstove was AWESOME for the chilly nights. Mudroom with laundry was great to leave gear after a long day of hiking, Bedrooms all were spacious and had comfortable beds.
Overall the trip was great. The rental just really needs some TLC. As I mentioned above, the rental definitely has the bones to be 5 stars.
