We want to provide you with important information about your upcoming stay at our property. Please take a few moments to read through the following disclosures, which will help you prepare for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Beach Life: Living on the beach is a unique experience, and our property is situated on the northwest coast of the beautiful Island of Puerto Rico. The area is known for a constant ocean breeze that brings salt and fine sand to the land at speeds of 10-20 miles per hour. As a result, you may encounter sticky surfaces, slippery floors, stained window glass, and traces of moisture or salt in the fans or air conditioners. Additionally, traces of rust in appliances and other metal components are typical. We clean the property after check-out and conduct a quick inspection to retouch surfaces as needed before guests arrive. However, it is impossible to maintain a spotless environment due to the weather conditions. The extent of these conditions varies by location within the apartment complex. If you book multiple apartments on the same property, you may experience different scenarios.
Local Beaches: Puerto Rico boasts a diverse range of beaches, with those on the north and east sides of the island often having more waves. The south and west coasts typically remain calm throughout the year. While the beach in front of our complex is not suitable for swimming, you can walk to Jobos Beach, located 2/3 of a mile east of the complex. Shacks Beach, a great spot for snorkeling, is 1.5 miles to the west. Please be cautious when entering any body of water, and avoid the beach if the waves are large. Within a 5-minute drive from the apartment, you can find two beach ponds with calm water: Montones’ and Teodoro. Crash Boat Beach, located 20 minutes away, is another must-see destination.
Note About Bugs: Puerto Rico is a tropical island with a diverse range of bugs. While we spray our apartments every month, it is still highly likely that you may encounter bugs on the property, especially at night. Changes in weather, such as rain or temperature, can also cause bugs to enter the apartment. The extent of bug encounters can vary from one property to another and is unpredictable.
Note About Wildlife: Puerto Rico has no dangerous species; however, you may run into iguanas, rodents, and even stray dogs or cats. If you encounter any wild or stray animals, do not pet them or feed them, as they may not be friendly.
Storm/Hurricane Season: The official hurricane season in Puerto Rico is from June 1st to November 30th. We strongly recommend that all future guests get travel insurance, especially during hurricane season. Unless there is a big event that affects the Island utilities, we will not offer last-minute refunds due to storms or rain. We may make an exception if the power and water supply are interrupted for over 24 hours.
Cancellations due to issues with Airlines: We understand that flight cancellations or missed flights can occur during travel, which are often beyond your control. To ensure a smooth and stress-free experience, please note the following guidelines:
• Cancellation policies: We adhere to the cancellation policy outlined in our terms and conditions. It is important to review this policy before making a reservation, as it will specify the procedures and any applicable fees in the event of a cancellation.
• Travel insurance: We highly recommend obtaining travel insurance that provides coverage for unexpected cancellations, including airline issues. Travel insurance can help protect you from financial losses incurred due to flight disruptions, and it is advisable to explore various insurance options to find the coverage that suits your needs.
While we empathize with any inconvenience caused by flight-related issues, it is essential to be prepared and take proactive steps to mitigate potential risks. By familiarizing yourself with our cancellation policy and obtaining suitable travel insurance, you can minimize the impact of unforeseen circumstances.
Utilities: While utilities such as water and electricity in Puerto Rico are generally stable, isolated interruptions can occur throughout the year. We will consider offering a refund if the interruption lasts over 24 hours, with a 25% discount applied to the nightly rate of each night spent without a utility. The discount will be prorated by the hours affected. We will not provide any refunds or discounts for internet-related issues.
Swimming Pool: Please note that your rental does not guarantee the use of the swimming pool. The pool is typically open during pool hours, but it may occasionally require maintenance. If the pool is closed for any reason, please be understanding towards the condominium’s staff, who will provide information on when it will reopen. Unfortunately, there will be no discount if you cannot use the pool during your stay.
Access to the boardwalk in front of the Complex is no longer available, but the Beach is still accessible through the wooden bridge located in the center of where the boardwalk used to be. Currently, the tennis court is not in service.
Please be aware that all units we manage have different owners, but we provide each one fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including towels, pots, pans, and other essentials. We kindly ask that these items be returned to the apartment they belong to. Please note that other hosts rent apartments in this Condominium, and we may not be able to recover any missing items.
We take great pride in providing an excellent experience for our guests and invest a lot of effort and money into maintaining and improving our properties. We understand that normal wear and tear can happen, but permanent stains or damage will be considered beyond normal wear and tear. In the event of any damaged or missing items, including towels, furniture, decoration, kitchenware, or any other component of the property, we will charge guests the replacement cost. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in taking good care of our property.
We want to inform you that our cleaning fee covers general cleaning services to prepare the unit for the next guest. However, please note that the following services are not included in the cleaning fee:
Trash disposal ($10.00 charge)
Washing dishes ($20.00 charge)
BBQ cleaning ($25.00 charge)
If you require any of these additional services, please let us know in the check-out message, and we will send you a separate payment
