If you want modern glamour or to party all night, then Villas Delfines is NOT for you. This is a 20-year old "eco-resort," of locally constructed thatch-roofed bungalows provided with solar heated showers and composting toilets (so if the sun don't shine you don't have hot water). There are also hammocks hanging on every front porch, mosquito netting over the beds, and ceiling fans; only the larger "ocean view" villas have air conditioning. The bungalows have wi-fi access but NO T.V. and NO PHONE.
The feel is rustic, but very comfortable. The rooms, grounds, gardens, and pool are kept immaculately clean, by a very friendly staff. Iguanas are everywhere. The atmosphere is quiet and expansive; even with most of the villas occupied you still fee like you have the place all to yourself.
The huge white sand - well groomed - beach goes very gently down into the warm, shallow, Gulf of Mexico; you can walk 50 yards out into the water and still be standing waste deep on soft sand.
