The couple that runs this place is extremely attentive, accommodating, and a pair of great cooks. The meals were fantastic and the peace and quiet was irreplaceable. Thanks again for a great stay.
Well located, great hospitality, SPARKLING clean. Breakfast was amazing, better than any restaurant. Fresh baked muffins…!!!! Hosts gave us great recommendations
The most warm & friendly hosts on all of our trip to Scotland. Every detail of the food & home is expertly & meticulously attended. Drinks, dinner & breakfast were a feast each time! Our room was actually the beautiful one pictured on website. Not sure I’ve ever had that work out! Bedding was so comfortable. Our hostess Emma even let us check in early after arriving on a morning ferry & had a fabulous tea & muffins waiting for us!
Wonderful hosts, beautiful house, walking distance to the shore. Emma’s breakfast is scrumptious, seafood dinner platter is definitely worth it. Stay at this property made our visit to Islay very special

Luxury at its finest from the minute you drive up!
Emma and Graeme are the penultimate hosts. Meals and breakfasts are beyond description. All of the rooms in the house are exquisite. This was my second time here and it only gets better. I always feel at home, part of the family when visiting (including another time with her mum Rachel). It is ideal to explore Islay or for Scotch tastings. Thanks for a great stay - too short! Staying at Glengedale House on the enchanting Island of Islay was an experience beyond compare. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our gracious hosts, Emme and Graham, whose hospitality made us feel right at home.
The culinary delights at Glengedale House were a highlight of our stay. Each meal was prepared to perfection using fresh, local ingredients, truly capturing the essence of Islay's rich flavors. The whisky porridge was a breakfast revelation—smooth, creamy, and with just the right hint of the island's famed whisky. Our seafood buffet for two, sourced straight from the sea that very morning, was an unforgettable feast of the ocean's finest, showcasing the freshest catch and culinary mastery.
Every detail at Glengedale House was impeccable, making our stay as comfortable as it was delightful. The charm of this bed and breakfast, coupled with the warm, attentive care from Emma and Graham, made our visit truly special. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer. We left with our hearts full and can't wait to return to this slice of paradise.

Islay Visit
Special! A real Pleasure to stay with Graeme and Emma. Their house is beautiful, they take very great care and attention to all their guests and provide amazing food and service. Our seafood platter was enormous and spectacular and the breakfasts are delicious and plentiful including a wonderful porridge (“Graeme’s Porridge”) and locally sourced salmon, sausages, bacon, and organic eggs. We leave very happy to have stayed there ..and carrying an extra few kilos :).
Glenegedale House on the stunning isle of Islay is an absolute gem that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and felt instantly at home. The owners, Emma and Graeme, are the most gracious hosts, always ready with a friendly smile and eager to ensure their guests have a wonderful stay.
The location of Glenegedale House is perfect, situated centrally on the island, making it an ideal base for exploring all that Islay has to offer. Whether you're interested in visiting the renowned whisky distilleries, hiking through the breathtaking landscapes, or simply relaxing on the beautiful beaches, Glenegedale House is conveniently located to suit all your needs.
The accommodations are top-notch, with beautifully appointed rooms that are both comfortable and stylish. I stayed in one of their luxurious en-suite rooms, which was spacious, immaculately clean, and equipped with all the amenities I could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring the island.
One of the highlights of my stay at Glenegedale House was the amazing food. Graeme is a fantastic chef who takes pride in using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create culinary delights that showcase the best of Islay's produce. The hearty breakfasts were delicious and left me eagerly anticipating the next meal.
Graeme and Emma made us feel like we were visiting old friends. They were so warm and welcoming. A truly exceptional experience. The food was amazing throughout the stay
Sometimes you know about a place when you walk in. There’s a sixth sense that lets you know you’ll be happy, comfortable and relaxed. That’s how it felt during our entire stay.
Perfectly positioned to explore and our room was gorgeous and we had a sublime sea view.
We had dinner on our first night. It was perhaps one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Great food, cooked well and served in style with warm service. Magical.
But even better than dinner was breakfast. Perfect porridge. Dredges of brown sugar. Doused in cream and Laphroaig. Islay smoked salmon and eggs from their own flock. Haggis, black pudding and all the trimmings. Perfectly poached fruit.
I’d eat that breakfast every day for the rest of my life and I’d be a very happy (and much rounder) man.
If you’re a whisky lover, just bathe in what you’ll find: drams that you won’t see elsewhere, and even if you could you wouldn’t find a better place to enjoy them.
But it’s not the things that make a place, it’s the people. Graeme and Emma’s hospitality heritage shone from beginning to end. We genuinely felt like we were at home during our entire stay.
If you ever get a chance to visit, you have to stay here. Once wasn’t enough. We’re already thinking about coming back.
Islay is a delight and Glenegedale House is a fantastic location to enjoy it. Conveniently located next to the airport and easy drive out in all directions.
