Arrived after 8pm, dark out. No lights on sidewalk to backdoor entrance. Tree branches overhang on sidewalk by driveway. No lights on back porch at entrance. Half eaten condiments and 3/4 drank bottle of some cocktail in fridge. Dirty coffee pot water basin, mold. Expired "snacks" of oatmeal and pasta. No coffee, dirty glass in cabinet. Dirty bedspread, dirty towels. Very extreme deodorizing smell that we could not tolerate and made us have headaches, we had to leave the next morning. We were paid up to for the week. We felt very uncomfortable in this place. Communication was not prompt when I texted the owner about having to leave after they said there was no air freshener in the room. It was smaller than expected and the bed was smaller than the bed frame, so that wasn't very comfortable. "Working desk" was in a closet. We felt like we didn't get what was advertised and what the reviews were claiming. Upon check in, we were sent a text about the place and was asked to give a review....saying all are 4.9.Just don't know why.
It was a one night stay so that I could visit Mayo Clinic. We did not have time to enjoy some of the property amenities. It suited our purpose, but it was a little different than what I thought when I initially booked it. It is a guest suite attached to an existing home with his own entranceits own entrance.
I would have rated everything here at five star, but there are some things needed. There were no dish rags dish towels there. The room needed a broom and a dust pan and maybe a mop. The only thing to really clean with was a little vacuum cleaner. Used it twice. It worked fine but the area under the bed and under the chairs really need a good a good cleaning. I especially liked the fact that I could fish off the deck. Really enjoyed that while we were there and it was close to the marina and the main roots up and down in Jacksonville there and getting out to the Navy base. Overall it was a good stay. I would recommend it to anybody.
The room and host was good and dont have any real complaints. I wish the listing let me know that the room is part of a household. Also its kinda weird they leave the last tenants condiments in the fridge for the next folks. No coffee or wash rags but host was very prompt on correcting this.
My husband and I stayed only 2 nights but we absolutely loved this place! It was perfect for us and we enjoyed relaxing outside on the deck right the lights! Cute little neighborhood and nice and close to beach. Frankie was quick to reply whenever I had reached out for something. I would definitely book again.
Overall good. The microwave was dirty so I cleaned that. The bed sits very low which is kinda hard for a 60+ OG like me. Communication was excellent and check-in and out were very simple. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and the deck and lake wouldâve been more enjoyable if it hadnât rained my entire time there.
The host was extremely accommodating with our travel , we asked to add another day which wasn't an issue . The place was clean and perfect for our stay, near family and close to Trader Joeâs. Thank you again for being so flexible !
If the following were added this would be a five star rating.
Kitchen: teaspoons, dish soap, dish towels
Bathroom: more than one face cloth, thicker bath towels
Bedroom: nightstand or small table on side of bed. There was only one night stand. A problem when more than one person. Add two extension cords on both sides of the bed.
There was no way to charge phone next to bed. The only plug near the bed was inaccessible. Get new bed pillows. The pillows looked very old and were much too flat.
I chose this place based on the 4.9 rating and it did not meet my expectations. I would not stay here again unless the above items are added.
The host was very responsive when I contacted her on a few occasions.
I stayed at another VRBO directly after this one and it all of the items one would expect in order to have a comfortable stay.
We were very impressed by the cleanliness and the place overall. The only real issue we had is the code provided had been recently changed and we weren't notified. When we gave a call she promptly answered (at midnight may I add). However if you feel like you need more than two towels you will want to bring your own. The refrigerator had an awful smell coming from it that we could never figure out what it was. Other than the few small things we were impressed.
My friends and I enjoyed our stay.. the room was clean and quaint. There were a couple of things, as a sponsor that I would have taken care of prior to guest arrival had I been the host of rental, such as, coffee available, fresh Folded extra sheets and blankets (there was a sheet in an ottoman that was waded up , which i did not want to use for didn't know if clean or NOT) , ice trays with made ice, and moldy bread thrown out. I was surprised to see no stove, but that's my error I guess for assuming there was one, but the 2 burner hot plate worked well.. also , just a suggestion, place a couple of door hooks in the bathroom, for hanging. My review is more of a critique to improve what people/ guests like to see than a complaint... We enjoyed our stay and the host was accommodating when emailed about coffee etc.. Oh one last thing.... the geese are beautiful, but make a mess of the walkway to the entrance of the efficiency. might be a good idea to hose the walkway a few hrs prior to guest arrival... Not a great first impression. overall... 7/10
Respectfully CS
Very nice Suite communication with host was great!! Definitely recommend for small gatherings. However there were some weird stains on sheets but thatâs out of the owners control.
Clean, cozy, comfortable, but no cooking facilities to speak of. Plan on eating all meals at restaurants. The outdoor grill was non-functioning, just a small hot plate inside, a small table, no chairs. Great neighborhood, close to stores and restaurants, great beaches.
My husband and I came into town for an appointment at Mayo Clinic. This suite was 2.2 miles from the clinic. had a few questions and the host responded promptly. Parking was great and convenient. I would definitely rent again if Iâm ever in the Jack
It is disgusting to leave used food and condiments in the refrigerator from either previous guests or homeowners. The refrigerator had not been cleaned, the toiletries were leftovers (there were four partial rolls of left over tissue), but rest of the unit was clean.
Also the low profile furniture was uncomfortable.
Home was a little smaller than pictures made it seem, but all in all it was very cozy. If you just need to spend the night in Jacksonville this is definitely the place! Host was very responsive and helpful. She let us check in early!
This property is conveniently located and well-maintained. Very quiet neighborhood overnight. Nice deck and view. I was just there for an overnight to attend a concert at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, which was only 10-15 minutes away. It suited my purpose perfectly. It's not set up for cooking and random driving didn't find any non-chain beach bar type places. Neither of those things were important to me, but I would recommend researching the area and maybe driving north instead of south to find more places to eat. The neighborhood geese were cruising around with four cute, fuzzy goslings.
