It is a hotel in a town with few other options for accommodation, so it might be the reasoning for the hotel's management policy and practices. Let's be clear: centrally located, but tucked in a side street off the bustle and therefore quiet; it is very clean (apart from the corridor carpet's musty smell you find in so many other hotels), and it is difficult to beat the price. The breakfast has a heavy emphasis on the local olive and general culinary culture, which is recommendable, but can get boring if you are not up for it every single morning for a week. The breakfast room staff (a waiter) is nice and attentive, but the coffee was just average, but I had to go to a cafe afterwards for my caffeine dosage in the morning, since there is not kettle in the room. I did not use the parking so I cannot evaluate it. But I can give an overall and well-meaning recommendation to the management: just spruce up the place with some small interventions, for example provide English-language TV-channels (just a few), fix small leakages in the toilet, scrub off the mildew in the bathroom sink and on the tiles, have the staff trained in some service improvement (just a bit of smiling and welcoming is always great!) and this hotel could easily be a 3.5 star hotel.
