Best western Bridge Hotel, Jon’s, France.
My husband and I booked this hotel as a stop-over on our way to the French Alps for a skiing holiday. The hotel is approximately 7 hours from the French side of the Eurotunnel, and approximately 3 hours from the main ski resorts, which allows you to take an overnight break from the driving and get an early start to arrive up the mountain well before the coaches clog up the roads ferrying tourists from the airports. The hotel was easy to find and not far off the beaten track. We arrived quite late but I knew when I booked it that the Hotel offered a good view of the river Rhone, which along with its location, was the main reason I booked it.
The hotel itself was quiet, which we attributed to the time of year. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a good sized car park at the front of the hotel with a smaller one at he rear through the hotel’s arched entrance way. Our room was clean, tastefully decorated in a modern style, and spacious enough (we were in an Executive room) for our purposes, with a small balcony with a good view of what appeared to be well maintained hotel gardens, the swimming pool and the river Rhône beyond. There was a small, comfortable, and tastefully decorated modern bar in which we enjoyed a bottle of local, and very reasonably priced wine. Had we arrived earlier, we would have taken advantage of the restaurant next to the hotel which had good reviews.
