Even though we only had one night booked, I‘d love to have stayed longer. Relaxed, but efficient check-in, explained all to know and helped us to our tent. The tent itself is set up so, you have neighbours but you won’t get distracted. The living/sleeping section is charming and the bathroom, with its wooden sliding door to give some privacy, has a not every-day shower, but is fantastic. Drinks, dinner and breakfast are being served. Sitting outside was really enjoyable. We loved every moment and the stars at 4am in the morning were just the icing on the cake. Will definitely try out other places from Under Canvas!
Such a magical place. We only had one night there, and wished it would have been more. Our kids had their own tent, and I was so nervous leaving our small kiddos out there for the night. But they had the greatest time out there. We had to wake them in the morning.
it was really hot when we arrived in the afternoon, but as the sun set, it got chillier in the tent, which was a nice surprise.
We had dinner there. The setting was beautiful, the food great and there was even a little band playing good music in the background. The kids had s'mores for dessert by the fire. Loved everything about our stay even though it was the most expensive accomodation during our five week journey in the US.
What an amazing place! Arrived at 6pm and 100 degrees and the tent was hot! However, as the sun started the set the temperature cooled and we had a very comfortable nights sleep. Recommend a stargazer tent, unbelievable sky once the sun had set. We saw multiple shooting stars whilst laid in bed. It’s not 5* accommodation (as it’s a posh tent with loo and shower however!) but very comfortable and a truly unique experience. Staff great and sat out watching the sun go down as the temperature cooled was very memorable. If you like all the comforts of air con this isn’t the place for you, however saying that, so do we and we loved it regardless!

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Overall experience was poor. Both children have a food allergy I called under canvas @ time of booking months in advance and was reassured that allergies could be accommodated. I called the site directly same response. I called a week prior to coming and then was told just tell the kitchen staff ….. upon arrival and on the menu a totally different story. To any family a kids w food allergies my experience says you can go here but not eat the food ! I felt a little misled! Fortunately page Arizona is 20 minutes away and has enough food for anyone.
My second concern was on arrival my tent choice was no longer available for whatever reason, I was told I could have a tent and a tent teepee (it’s 100 degrees that thing which I slept in (wouldn’t let my kids sleep in it was suffocating). Or PAY more for an additional tent structure! That story changed the next day and the manager detailed a different plan ! Not sure they were on the same playbook!
Lastly my own camping experiences (life long) with my own stuff is more glampy!
The location is great, there is nothing like the grand staircase or glen canyon. You will be blown away…. I would recommend against under canvas specifically for kids allergy and that it wasn’t quite as advertised
Under the Canvas - Lake Powell exceeded expectations. The stargazer tent was very comfortable. The staff were, for the most part, very helpful. The dinner options were great. Breakfast was fine. We had drinks on site in the evening, played some of the board games on offer and really enjoyed our evening.
From the view to the lovely staff and delicious food/drinks I was blown away! Only stayed one night but it was a magical time and one I am eager to visit again.
Amazing, peaceful oasis in the desert. Wonderful food (the only vegetable forward meals of our entire road trip in Utah)
Great service, kind people, amazing atmosphere.
