The hotel was very nice except that they use a very strong powdery air sanitizer that leaves an overwhelming odor in the room. It was so strong that it kept me awake.

The entire property is very clean & the staff was friendly and helpful. They offer safe long-term, gated parking ($7 per day I believe) with free airport shuttle in a brand new cargo van. It runs every 20 minutes starting at 3am until late evening. Our driver Lee was a sweet older gentleman. Will definitely stay here again.

Bad Smell
It had a very bad smell when we walked in. Smelled like it had been a smoking building and was remolded. The room had a horrible odor like a pesticide had just been sprayed. Was not the cleanest hotel I have stayed in.

Hotel and staff were amazing! The shuttle driver (I wish I could remember his name) was so sweet and very friendly! Pool and hot tub was clean and enjoyable! Breakfast was great and the Starbucks coffee was a plus! If we ever go back to KC, we will definitely stay at OrangeWood again!

Clean and renovated
The hotel is very well updated inside. Clean, very nice service. My only issues were the ground level room was very humid and "swampy", like I felt like we were breathing in a vaporizer like when you've got a bad cold. When we first went into the room it felt fresh and clean, but as the night wore on it did smell a bit musty, like the AC unit needed cleaning. I did call the desk at one point, around 10pm, to ask if we were positioned under a staircase as there was constant noise and banging above us, but was informed we were not. I didn't push the issue, but would have been nice to have them offer to either ask the folks above to quiet or ask if we wanted to move to a higher level. But other than those issues, it was a nice stay, decent bed, clean, and breakfast was fine. Very convenient and clean. Would stay again, just would ask for a higher level room not located next to the back entrance.
